GoPro Copper Mountain - January 10, 2017
มุมมอง 2827 ปีที่แล้ว
A killer day of riding on a Tuesday at Copper Mountain, CO. Production note: it is really tough to balance on steep grades in powder and chopped powder while holding the camera out away from my body. I'm such a better rider with "guns in the holster".
One Day in Moab - 2014

Another GoPro of us cruising the roads of the west in our Jeep. I'm working to improve video capture techniques. The Go Pro also takes incredible still photos as I've shown here in a couple short montages.
Middle Palisade 2012
มุมมอง 1.6K10 ปีที่แล้ว
A GoPro view of my ascent up California's Middle Palisade (14,040') in August 2012. Middle Palisade is a rough trek over boulders and loose rock and is far from the trailhead. Beyond Brainerd Lake no trail exists. Physically, Middle Palisade is one of the most challenging California fourteeners. Reaching the summit is a real feather in anyone's cap. Finger Lake is as spectacular as they come!
Pyramid Peak 2013
มุมมอง 2.3K11 ปีที่แล้ว
A trip up Colorado's Pyramid Peak (14,018 ft) with three friends in August 2013. Pyramid is one of the great Elk Range peaks and is right outside Aspen. It is visible the entire way up the Maroon Creek Road and is one of the most beautiful peaks in Colorado.
Palisades Traverse 2013 - Electronic Version
มุมมอง 77811 ปีที่แล้ว
A one-day traverse of the Palisades 14ers (Thunderbolt Pk to Mt Sill) as seen from my GoPro helmet cam. This traverse is long and exposed: start early and move quickly. Our weather was spectacular and the conditions were perfect with no wind, ice, or snow. This traverse could be done solo, but I would not recommend it for those with a family. Most of the climbing is 4th class and it does not ex...

CO Jeep Tour 2013
มุมมอง 60111 ปีที่แล้ว
Driving over some Colorado passes in our new Jeep, we saw some beautiful sights and had a blast. Some of the passes were really easy and some were a lot tougher. I also experimented for the first time with a telescopic mount for my GoPro. I think it turned out pretty well. Enjoy!
Torrey's Peak - Kelso Ridge 2013
มุมมอง 2.4K11 ปีที่แล้ว
A GoPro view of a trip up the Kelso Ridge on Torreys Peak in June 2013. This ridge is not for beginner mountaineers, but is not that technically difficult or exposed either. It is a great starter for someone who's new to this type of terrain or for someone (like me) looking for a little early summer acclimatization close to Denver. Have fun!
Riding The Cauberg - Holland 2012
มุมมอง 3.4K12 ปีที่แล้ว
The Cauberg is the most famous of all the Dutch climbs and is featured as the finishing climb in the annual Amstel Gold Race, one of the biggest one day cycling races in the world. The Cauberg is actually on a major road connecting Valkenburg to Maastricht and is heavily trafficked. Like all of the Amstel Gold Race climbs, the Cauberg is hard, especially at the end of many climbs. This was my 1...
Climbing The Gulpenerberg - Holland 2012
มุมมอง 2.2K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Of the 25 climbs I did in Flanders and Holland I thought the Gulpenerberg and the Eyserbosweg were the two hardest. This climb is really, really hard and is a relentless 15%, no matter what the stats say. I think they must be calculating the distance of the climb from a long way out. To me, these climbs in Holland were harder than the Flanders climbs and I now look at the Amstel Gold Race with ...
Riding The Koppenberg - Flanders, Belgium
มุมมอง 27K12 ปีที่แล้ว
The Koppenberg is a famous climb featured in the world's biggest one day cycling event, The Tour of Flanders. It is far from the finish of the race, but its very steep gradient, narrow profile, and wet cobblestones make it a very taxing climb for even the best professionals. I rode a 50 mile loop around Flanders, which is not a long distance, but these climbs really take it out of you: I felt l...
Elitch's Roller Coaster

A ride on each of the two roller coasters at Elitch Gardens, a relatively lame amusement park in Denver that happens to have two pretty fun coasters. Enjoy!
CA Peaks 2012
มุมมอง 9912 ปีที่แล้ว
A montage of my 2012 mountain climbing trip to CA as seen from my GoPro Hero 2 camera. The weather was abnormally bad during my time there, getting very electrical and wet throughout the Sierras after about 1PM. This trend made it impossible for me to complete the Palisades traverse, which is an all-day affair. Nonetheless, the scenery was spectacular as always. Hopefully I've captured some of ...
Why you not wear your Helmet Dude ?
That arete at 2:36 is amazing. Looks like the SW Arete. It epitomizes the nature of climbing the high peaks of the Eastern Sierra. There's plenty of clean, solid rock to be found, but if you really want to feel comfortable in this environment, you need to come to terms with the fact that although these mountains are still rising, they're constantly crumbling down. Edit: Like the video, but hate the music.
Did you do it all in a single day?
Awesome traverse! So here's a question I was wondering: how do you get enough water to last you that long of a traverse? I'd imagine you can't carry very much and on the ridge I don't think there's much snow to melt. I can barely get up to a fourteener summit with the water I bring up, let alone stay there on the ridge that long. Oh and it would be really interesting to see an unedited version for beta. Also, any way I can contact your guide for some Palisades peaks? Thanks!
Sorry this video hasn't got any comments or more thumbs up which it deserves. I don't have the youth or the skills but love the area. The Palisades group is more interesting for me than the Whitney group. Your video captures the color of these mountains well. Was your base camp in Dusy Basin? Thanks
So this is music that suicidal people like...
Ang you cant win this race unless your in the big ring and at the front. Great video points out the difficulty of where the selections can get made.
Well done! Looks like we had our hands on the same rocks.
Excellent video. I did the Torreys/Grays combo today and might go back to try out the Kelso Ridge route
Badass climb paired with a badass song!
BTW...watching this makes me want to write the story of my first ascent! It was an epic trip with my Uncle and two cousins!
I did this climb for the first time when I was in the summer between 5th and 6th grade. I remember being scared shitless, as it was also the first mountain I had climbed, too. I am 46 now, and love the Kelso Ridge!
Awesome. Thanks for showing the approach up. I'm doing this for the first time in July 2017.
ridiculous music period!
Excellent work ! that Peugeot broke down at the beginning of the climb 😁
What type of gearing did you use?
Nice
what a lovely day!
amazing :-)
You finished strong! well done. It's amazing how narrow the road is. Thanks
lots of respect dude, i want to summit this mountain so badly
Did you change your tire? Or did you ride it on 700x23 common road tires?
Standing in my street my man! Did you like the hills and the cobblestones ?
A helmet should be on your head, also uphill
this video gets two thumbs up for the song alone
Thanks for sharing this video--it's super! I added it to my Learnist (learni.st) board as part of a collection of Kelso Ridge resources titled "Colorado Fourteeners: Kelso Ridge on Torreys."
You know what is typical about belgian climbs? When you enter a forest, the gradient becomes hell :) just out of curiosity, what are 3 hardest climbs you did? I'm betting La redoute is amongst them.
looks flat :( but i had the same problem with my footage so taking that into consideration, looks like some gnarly terrain!
