Love your content! I noticed that your channel has a lot of potential, but a few simple SEO changes could really help bring in more viewers. For instance, working on thumbnail consistency and adding a few more targeted keywords in your titles might help . Just a thought, feel free to reach out if you'd like more suggestions
You didn't connect the dots between the 36% gain from delaying and the 10% gain at age 75. I.e. that there's a lifetime 3.6% boost by combining them.
Volume is too low to watch, sorry
Clear and concise explanation on why a spousal rrsp is a good tool to use. I just one thing to clear up, a RIF can be income split after 65 correct? So a spousal rrsp makes the most sense when you need to withdraw before age 65.
What is PWM ? And how can I break into it ?
Your videos are amazing, and I wish you would upload them more regularly. I’d love to help you with this. I’m a Pro video editor, Thumbnail designer I can handle everything-from editing your videos to creating eye-catching thumbnails and SEO optimization.
Great content, as always! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
How do I apply? Can I get the application form on line?
@@lornemosionier8864 the application form is available on the Government of Canada Website. www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/publicpensions/cpp/old-age-security/apply.html
The biggest reason for not delaying is a person's health. Knowing that your time on earth will be shorter then the average life span and that there is no survivor benefit then get the money now when you can enjoy it. If not then it is the government that benefits from the delaying.
Wow. As a fellow Ontarian and aspiring financial advisor, this is awesome Your videos are truly underrated especially considering the quality and information, keep it up!!
Very good video ❤❤
Hey there, I was analyzing your TH-cam Channel (Ferguson Financial Planning) and you are struggling to Organic Channel Monetization, organic views and revenue. Here are the problems that I have found: 1. Your TH-cam Not SEO friendly 2. Title not SEO friendly 3. Description not SEO 4. Not Video Tags 5. Not Channel Tags 6. Not Hashtags
😊
I prioritized but with the upcoming World War how can I protect myself from this catastrophic event. If we are lucky enough to escape this possibility, how can we protect our nest egg from the Ultra left . This really scares the $h it out of me. How will the wealthy and ultra rich protect their wealth
Very Informative👍
Thank you
What about reverse mortgage?
Depends on your situation. Feel free to book a consult using the link in my bio. Thanks!
This video has provided me with much-needed clarity. What steps should individuals take to ensure their digital assets are properly addressed in their wills? As someone who runs a dream interpretation channel, I'm curious how you incorporate viewer feedback into your content creation process. I truly appreciate the valuable insights shared in this video about digital legacy planning and have already liked and subscribed to your channel for more informative content.
its highly debate-able if you should delay OAS to any age beyond 65. Here are the reasons why you should not, especially if you are male. Average life expectancy in Canada for males is 81-82 the break even point where you would see the benefit on holding off OAS payments (higher monthly payments) till age 70 is age 84. OAS does not have a survivor benefit, if you are married your Spouse receives 0. Unlike CPP which does have a survivor benefit. CPP in almost all scenarios you should hold off till 70. Focus on melting down your RRSP/RRIFF in earlier years of retirement. Learn and understand your average tax rate to flat line your taxable income. If you plan correctly you should be able to limit any OAS clawback which = 15% on every OAS dollar if your yearly net income as of 2023/24 is 86K or higher.
Great insights, thank you
The average life expectancy in Canada you quote for males, age 81-82, is from birth and many people make this error. What you should be using is the life expectancy from age 65 in the Canadian Pensioners’ Mortality table (that is, you didn't die when you were younger so by age 65 your life expectancy is higher). Using that table you will see that for the general population, from age 65, men have an expected life expectancy to age 85. That is for the general population, for those that are better off, and more likely to be able to afford to defer, life expectancy for men is age 87.5, 89.2 for women. It's not a make or break situation but it's not as simple as using the general "life expectancy from birth" statistic either. At the end of the day none of us are statistics so use your best judgement. Me, I deferred OAS to 70 and started it in 2023.
@@ddavidson5 I'm very clear regarding your age of birth comment. You have not considered that a reverse trend is happening. The age of mortality in US and Canada is dropping. The reasons range from environmental factors, ie air quality, pesticides, herbicides, obesity, processed and fast foods...the list goes on and on. Look at the garbage that the majority of society eat. You should consider the context of this video, its geared towards individuals who are coming up to retirement and or soon considering OAS and CPP not someone who is born in 2024. Your comment is out of context. There is plenty of statistics and data that is showing that baby boomers will likely live the longest of any of the generations.
@@marcelmed4574 Good thing I am a Boomer! As far as I know the main reason for recent decline in life expectancy was the pandemic that hit the oldest cohort particularly hard but it's not like I am an expert or anything.
You get the clawback amount back as income tax withheld on the T4A slip. So there's really no loss. However, they get you in the line for "social benefits repayment" on the tax return. That's where you lose.
Good information
You can delay OAS….?.. your kidding
So few people delay OAS that most believe you can't (I even had to correct my accountant on this). If you do delay OAS then that does give you an additional guaranteed inflation protected defined benefit pension for as long as you live, which seems like a good thing to me.
Good advice. Thanks
<Thanks for the continuous update! I am super excited about how my stock investment is going so far, making over 8k weekly is an amazing gain🥰>
The government wants you to delay, because the increase of 7.2% is just enough to push many people into OAS clawback.
I hear this all the time but look at the numbers... Anything below $90,800 a year there is no claw back ($181,000 for a couple). Above $90,800 a year you lose 15 cents on the next dollar and you would get some OAS all the way to just under $150,000 a year ($300,000 for a couple). Here's an example: For a single person, if your retirement income without the enhanced OAS was immediately below where OAS claw back starts and if you deferred OAS until age 70 for the full 36% increase (another $256/month from OAS) you would lose $38 to claw back on that $256, which doesn't seem like enough claw back to worry about. It seems to me that if you are in OAS claw back territory you should be doing just fine financially in retirement. If this is you stop worrying about OAS claw back and count your blessings.
I am a bookkeeper and taxes and honestly nobody has ever even hinted about delaying OAS. I'm staying the course until 70.
Happy we were able to provide some new information @@leebrendalee
every situation is unique, generally this is unlikely. Read my comments above.

Interesting. Thank you; I will talk to my Financial Advisor.

great content
I like your video!
Thank you!
Hey Ferguson , really nice video! I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your video to reach to a wider audience .
Hey Ferguson, I am Suhayb a 17 years old entrepreneur. I do short video editing and was wondering if I could do it for you, for free, no strings attached, just to help me get experience?
Great video!
Thank you!
Another thing to note is that contributing to spousal rrsp reduces YOUR rrsp deduction limit. So careful not to over contribute.
Absolutely. One reason we always ask to see client's notice of assessment so we can confirm RRSP room before recommending this.
Can you make a video on investment?
Stay tuned...
