Israeli Food Is The Best
มุมมอง 542K6 ปีที่แล้ว
The food in Israel is reason enough to visit the country. I’ve gained at least 3kg during my week sampling the best of what the country has to offer my tastebuds. This is actually not the easiest thing to do as the food in Israel is so healthy - What do you think about Israeli food?

    Here's my perception... Rick Owens pieces can be super oversized (i.e. top heavy). Means it looks good with people with broad shoulders or someone who want to enhance their shoulders. Julius on the other hand is definitely for slimmer bodies. Rick Owens have cleaner tailoring while Julius seems to be going for apocalyptic distressed looks most of the time.

    • @HeelerGSD
      @HeelerGSD 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have both the regular Bamba 2 as well as the Gortex (GTX) version. The regular/non-GTX is more breathable, but I wouldn't say it's anywhere near as breathable as summer sneaker with more mesh and airflow. In really hit weather I wear different sneakers. But that's just me!

      @@HeelerGSD These are one of my grails I'm thinking of getting them only if they last long. How've they held up so far? My tts is around 8 us I think and I found one for 9 us, do you think its worth it and will it fit well?(non gtx version I think? Idk 100% how to tell)

    • @HeelerGSD
      @HeelerGSD 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jeffersonbezos2693 The sole just doesn't seem to wear down. It's odd how strong it is. I think my most worn pair has gone through maybe 300 days of 6000-10000 steps and the stitching/everything has held up. If you are TTS 8 then I would get 8.5 or 9. I think they run about half size too small. They run normal in the heel but very tight in the toe box. So size up for room in the toes. All GTX versions will have a Gortex logo.

    Could I wear the high tops with some slim/skinny selvedge denim?

    • @HeelerGSD
      @HeelerGSD 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do, all the time. Yeah, the Bamba 2 aren't workwear/Americana style, by any means. But the messy overdyed look can work with selvedge jeans, depending on the colorway you choose. Boris Bidjan Saberi's more recent P13 jeans come in more traditional blue denim fabrics, so look for how those are paired with the Bamba 2. At the end of the day, create your own style and trust your instincts!

    BBS' use of transparent leather predates the launch of Apparition (2017), so it's probably regular parchment leather. CCP has also used parchment leather in older collections. Congrats on the coat though! I had a red Apparition IS backpack too, really nice material

    In my opinion the "black dye" suits the low tops better than the high tops, which I had for a little while, while the "wehr gurn" suits both low tops (which I have) and high tops (which I'll probably look out for now, after seeing this vid) very well, plus the green shades are easier to meld with the rest of the outfit into the "conventional" techwear-ish palette. Just my own subjective opinion, ofc.

    About the sabich, he forgot the amba, the mango pickle-curry sauce, but go real easy on it the first time so that you can decide if you like it. I like it a lot but only a little or it will smother everything else. The amba is indeed Iraqui.

    Israeli food is such a minefield of a term, and I think you managed to step on all the mines 😂. Putting food origins and politics aside, some observations: Druze is the name of one of the religions found in north of Israel, and the dish is called "pita druzit" which translates to Druze Pita. It is usually served with Labane so the name stuck, full name is druze pita with labane- but to call it just "druze" is like calling Arab Salad just "arab" lol (ps, another mine you stepped on...). Second, Sabich in bread? No! Just say no kids! The places who do serve this abomination will not call it Sabich, but perhaps Sabich sandwich (again, kids, just say no). It is actually one of the few foods that you mentioned that are actually based in the jewish culture (of course, there are many more, mainly the chulent / chamin, gefilte fish, yamanite Jachnun etc). Which brings me to shawarma- originally a turkish dish, however! The version popularised in Israel has some twists to it that do make it a local dish- for example, the most popular version is made out of turkey chicken laced with lamb far, and is not served with Yoghurt due to Kosher issues. Also very popular with Amba sauce (pickled mango in hilbe) which is not that popular in its original form in turkey.

      Lamb fat, not lamb far, of course
