Just got back from a recent trip to Disney World a few weeks ago. It was my first time trading pins, and I bought all my pins in the park. I suspected 1 or 2 were fake right after trading them, as they just felt off (lighter for example) and I had heard about there being fake ones. I just checked all my trades on the pinpics.com site posted below, and sure enough they were. So from the 6 official pins I traded, I received 5 scrappers. Disappointing, but when I go back I'm going to take them with me to trade. I hate adding them back into the system, but I did purchase the original ones I had from the park. So I feel that its fair. Hopefully you have better luck when you go since you know what to look for when going. Good luck! :)

Hello. You can go to pinpics.com and type in a description in the pin search box such as Goofy Lock. It will pull up items that fall in that description . You click on the one that you are trying to find out about and it tells you all about that pin. You can check the color difference, different markings, date and you will know what its supposed to say on the back. It sometimes even tells you that there are scrappers in that particular pin. You as a pin trader can also input some scrappers if you found any. I use this website a lot when I pin trade. I hope you enjoy pin trading as much as I do, Have fun trading.

You will end up trading for a few scrappers. Even seasoned pin traders like the ladies at Everything Mousey Pins get them sometimes. Personally if I get a scrapper I trade them back off in the parks or use them as push pins (or if I really like the pin I keep it regardless!). The important thing is that when I initially trade I'm leaving something legit and not contributing to the problem.

As for your question about asking to see the backs, if you're trading on a pin board I'd just pop the pin off and look. If it's on a lanyard I'd ask to see the back if the cast member wasn't busy, didn't have a line etc. That's just what I'd do. Most (not all) of the fake pins are Hidden Mickey's. I wouldn't say "avoid them all" but you certainly need to scrutinise them more.

If it was a big eBay lot they are alllll counterfeits. Pretty miserable for the people trading after you. "Tradable" doesn't always equal authentic .

Thanks for the info. I think the fuel rod idea is great, looking into it myself. We will be going back to the camper during the day and will be recharging them but it will be good to have just in case we need it. We utilize the memory maker, the last time we were at Disney between me and my wife and my daughter and her family we had several hundred photos on the memory maker then when we get home we pick the ones that we want. We generally take pictures with a camera or phone off the beaten path and will use a gopro for videos. Have fun.

Great videos, this is also our first trip to the Fort but we are pulling our own 30 ft. 5th wheel from Northwest Georgia. We just started camping last September. Try also checking out Disney Campers on Facebook, they have a lot of good information. We are also looking to get tickets on GovX (30 years firefighter and 15 years Law Enforcement). Frontier and Spirit are garbage. They advertise initial low fares, but they kill you with fees. There is a charter our of Hagerstown that flies down every Saturday and comes back the following week. I have no details, but I keep hearing about their great fares. Maybe next time... Love the videocast!

I may be a little slanted in my opinion, but if you guys want the BEST information on the Fort, head over to this website: www.fortfiends.net We may sometimes be a little sarcastic, but it is in good fun and it consists entirely of people who camp regularly at the Fort. Personally, I have been camping there for 30 years and travel from PA. They also have an app called Fort Wilderness sites available on iTunes or android which has pictures and descriptions of all the sites at the Fort.
