In Episode 1, Mae kills Master Indara. It's a bit surprising that Indara senses a lot of Mae's attacks and moves within the fight but fails to sense the killing blow, but I can let that pass. Everything that follows thereafter goes downhill. Yord, who is constantly depicted as INCOMPETENT comes to arrest Osha with a PADAWAN. A suspect who has successfully killed a skilled Jedi Master is to be arrested by what seems to be a new Jedi Knight and his Padawan? Worse still is the fact that they go in to unfamiliar territory with THE ONLY EYEWITNESS in tow? How does that make sense? Yord was ready to reach for a light saber when Osha attempted to reach into her pocket but he went to arrest her with minimal security. In fact, the Jedi Council themselves are proven to be inept just by sending Yord to make that arrest. What if it was truly the assassin? Would that have resulted in a blood bath? This is clearly a contrivance to have us see that the only eyewitness identified Osha because she has a doppelganger...
The major issue is how many things contrive to force the plot in a certain direction without actually making sense. Now I'm really not a major Star Wars fan but I love a lot about Star Wars. I'm only recently discovering a lot about the lore and what is canon or not. The Acolyte truly does have some fantastic fight scenes. I loved the opening of Episode 1 and I do say it really hooked me on but the ending of each episode (except episode 4) is poor and never really makes you wanna waiy another week to watch an episode
When you watch The Acolyte, you immediately realize that there is a SERIOUS problem with the entire series. I started watching it purely because it's a Star Wars series and had absolutely NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE about the series or anything that it was about. I watched the first four episodes with no bias but it's the only series that I find has very poor writing and I have even tolerated things like The Book of Boba Fett which everyone seems to hate.
I honestly don't like how people nitpick insignificant aspects as somehow a reason as to why the show is bad. Like fire in space isn't even that far out of the ballpark for star wars, idk why people are laser focusing on details like that.
you do know they never really explain the stroy throughtly right? how did osha really turn to the dark side but all of sudden takes a stranger suggestion and say you're right and i forgive you for killing my friends ? how they don't even explain that too, worst part is how all the witches die off when they are literally pushing the idea saying when more that 1 person uses the force is better than 1 and chanting the power of many as teamwork only to be proven that their wrong that 1 is actually more powerful than many? at least have indara killing the wiches by killing them directly to break the spell one at a time and by the time the spell is broken they all be dead but their mother greifing her peoples death and have mae be there to witness the event as her mother get kill at her emotional greif state

People on the internet are just average people, not professional critics or editors. They often don't know why they don't like something, or can't articulate it well. They also don't understand when a good critic pulls something apart, they'll just reach for "muh canon violation". Things like establishing shots, framing, mise-en-scene - basic film school stuff, it doesn't get the outrage clicks. What Nico talks about at 2:50 is basic continuity, a writing requirement which is utterly basic. It's a sign of stitched-together content, too many revisions or uncoordinated writers. (I think Osha should do this/I think Osha should do that) The fact that it is even there speaks to massive incompetence. TV networks used to shoot out 26 episodes a year and mostly keep them coherent. And that was often with different writers for each episode.
The Tapestry is the history of the Targaryens up to the House of the Dragon era (Still to go till Daenerys times though).
Enjoyed your thoughtful view of Shogun. Shogun was one of my favorite books to read. William Adams was actually the first Englishman to reach Japan in 1600. There are some interesting historical facts in this show. Subs.

Show is horrible in my opinion. The story is terrible and the casting choices are even worse. I enjoyed watching you a lot more than watching the actual show. So handsome.
