Out of curiosity, why is the man constantly slinging his rifle?
He’s a guide on
He’s a probably an extra person assuming they don’t have enough people
The commander is performing the routine along with his fellow cadets. The c/SGT with the slinged rifle is an extra.
Coming from a Hawaii driller myself, I will say they had the whole routine down, I give props for that, they all knew what they were doing and executed it perfectly, however I can catch lot of sloppy stuff and mistakes including body movements etc... if a team is going to do a routine that involves high intensity speed like this, they should use more time to perfect the aspect of body control movements so they don’t look so shaky, perhaps maybe deciding to do thinks slower and go from pace to pace, at a slow, medium and then fast pace, and repeat. This was a good performance tho, good shit mckinley.
Funny you say that, back in the day when i was part of my team. My Drill instructor would tell us that most teams who use high speed sequences do it to hide the fact that they are sloppy. With the exception of a couple of schools and the now retired Kings Guard. He would tell us judges like slow routines or medium tempo because the slower the tempo the easier you can see mistakes. The slower the tempo and you can also work on those mistakes.
awesome
Wow they going fast take their time 😳😳😳
I was looking for this in for the last few years :O why keep it secret ?
This video was from many years ago. Please remember these ropes and snap links are rated to have weight exceeding 7 to 10K of weight on a rope at a time. They are designed to have massive gear traveling across (none in this competition). The reason we only allow three on a rope has NOTHING do to with safety as it is NOT unsafe to have every cadet on the bridge at one time on a properly configured one-rope bridge (despite what you may believe). Having three cadets on the rope at a time increases the difficulty factor and puts a premium on speed and teamwork...nothing more, nothing less.
Justin doesn't GET anyone...I have only had to initiate legal proceedings against one person because he was a complete smartass when I asked him to remove the video that he shot within on the floor at our event. Then his dad was a bigger smartass so I know where it came from. They weren't near as cocky when they were hit with a $10,000 copyright infringement claim. Dropped it and simply required a written public apology when they removed the video...
Oh and we hold the record for rope bridge which was recored at 56 seconds in 2005
Awww my team ceadr shoals this vid was actually not from the nationals it was from the year before we hosted the 1st national championship we r known as the godfathers of raider and by the way half the rules and penalties you are talking about was not around untill 2009
1) It's not a "slip knot"; 2) rules in 2008 had no max on the rope; 3) NOBODY WAS ON THE BRIDGE BEFORE either side knot was completed and verified by a judge (it just happens very fast with the best teams) and 4) in Florida, they check the quality of the knot AFTER the team has already crossed???? To me, a stupid and dangerous way to monitor and grade Rope Bridge with ANYONE on the rope. We had two DQs this year and they occurred BEFORE ANYONE got on the bridge for an illegal/dangerous knot.
It actually a major safety hazard/penalty to put anyone on the bridge before nearside is finished with his knot. Also, I don't know about Nationals, but I know for Florida State Raider Competition that it is a penalty and a disqualification to use a slipknot as seen in 1:31. Another thing is that it is a disqualification to send more then 3 people over the bridge at a time.
my hometowns football team won the championship in 2011 and a lot of my friends were on that team that team was team Harris of the mason comets
I have a quick question. Do the rules change at the national level/Vary from different parts of the U.S? I was always told that there are only supposed to be 2 people on the rope at the same time when crossing, and that the rope not supposed to touch the ground when the number 1 and number 8 person. cross the obstacle.
We are! (Cedar Shoals) We are! (Cedar Shoals) We are! EAGLE TEAM! Gotta love hearing SGM Jordan in the background.
Great time! Whoever disliked probably can't make a one rope bridge that fast with their team.
@rekazu In layman's term's ''IT SHOULD BE UNDER TWO MINUTES!!!!
@rekazu Should be 100%....... so, ohhhh you got under two minutes, that COMMON policy!!!
my team is going this year. papio monarchs from papillion nebraska. check out my highlight vid.
@Okami2308 do both dude but i love my raiders

wow mad penalties
wtf no body was holding for nearside
man u guys r good, but here is a couple things i saw. arent u only allwod to have 2 people on the rope bridge at one time, and u were already putin someone on b4 u tied ur safety not. and doesn't the farsidemen have to bulay u with the rope and u cant go ahead of the rope.
was this Lebanon Tennessee?
Yea, only suppose to have 2 on at a time, so their time got fucked
dude this was the raider comp with the most competition (obviously) i ever went to. Francis Lewis (or w/e the overall champ was) was ridiculous. the way rope bridge worked was so dif to what we have always done. in reg comps, we were allowed to setup before hand instead of havin the rope just like in a circle. you guys^ were pretty damn quick, just couldnt get guys off quick bc of mud. but damn good job
hahah it seems like everyone likes to brag here... haha but im from NY the knots we do here are completely different then nationals. BUT wat i do recommend that it comes down to how fast your ppl cross, so practice that you'll see an improvement
Yeah im a Raider at NorthEast High Clarksville TN and we got 5th at the 2007 Raider Nationals, good job though, well get yall next year.
This tournament is awesome! So many great groups of people. There is simply no other tournament even near as good.
what school where u from? im from francis lewis
