There used to be a nice wee ice cream shop at Yoker just on the corner of Dumbarton Road with the ferry road. I can taste it yet. I think one of the ferries was steam.

Ah wiz a gambler oan it fur years . Before that I selt the Citizen right beside that wee gray hut oan the Renfra side , eftur ah came oota school . A good pitch wi a captive audience , ah remember the charge o' bunnets up the ramp when it landed , and the graffiti oan the Yoker side BENNET IS A BASTARD .

Ma uncle and his mate were on a job in Renfield St in the toon , gaun for a pint at dinner brek they were crossing at the lights when a German asked them the way to Clydebank . Barney , the mate came back wi , yer aul man could fun it in the dork .

played on ferry when stayed at my auties in early 50s when it was 1 penny to ride back and forth. my auties is still there in clyde st i used to whatch the boats go bye.
Often took the ferry as youngster to get to Paisley Ice Rink (and back). So sad to learn it's gone. I had no idea.
