History of the Ford St. Louis Assembly Plant
It opened up first as a Mercury Assembly Plant! I worked @ Chrysler Fenton,Missouri Plant #1 South Retired in 2007
This plant was filled with useless, aging UAW workers who were overpaid amd coddled. Glad that POS plant was shut down......was excellent news.
Did St. Louis make the Ranger always believe one shift made them there per day
No, the Ranger was only made in Twin Cities Assembly, Louisville Assembly and Edison Assembly in NJ.
I just gave this video it's first like after 15 years. It gets a like for creativity.👍
Thanks to all the people who worked here, my 2003 Lincoln Aviator is still going strong here in Europe!
Nice video! I worked @ Chrysler St. Louis Assembly Plant #1 South Fenton,Mo. U.A.W. Local 136
My dad did 37 years at this plant before it closed
Really good wholesome music
What is the instrument at 2:16?
it's really a history .
I know this guy
I like the gray tractir
This is The True American Anthem. We need to keep those coal miners working in West Virginia and also for the people in Northern New Mexico.
God Bless the USA happy Labour day ya all.
don't forget Toyota troy mo.
wage slaves lol. propaganda bullshit
Hahah I agree, 9 to 5 40 hour work week is modern slavery. Life is too short for that !
Stephan's Notes Work 5 days to enjoy 2 days is not a good deal. I have gained a lot of freedom by becoming a minimalist.
I'm on board with you.
thanks to all my union brothers and sisters of the line for making quality union made vehicles that are safe and reliable. Ford kcap local 249.
looks like the party is over since this plant is closed now and being bulldozed down. When you listen to the happy bs from the narrator little did they now it would soon be over.
Special thanks to the people at the Ford plant of Hazelwood, the GM plant of Wentzville, and the Chrysler plant of Fenton for making awesome vehicles and keeping the Big Three running strong.
Thanks to the men and women worked hard every day for making America a better place. You guys are truly hard workers.
The Ford Plant in Hazelwood Missouri made St.Louis so special other than the gateway Arch.
Ford's are the best! I love my Explorer and all the other Ford vehicles that I own!

What about the CNA's who take care of the Elderly
Wonderful video. This clip shows that the true backbone of America are not those idiots in Washington. The real America is the cashier behind the counter busting her back to feed child. It's the mechanic helping me keep my ford truck on the road a bit longer. The truck that made built in the Twin Cities plant. OK the wheel rims were made in Brazil. Well done indeed.
Awesome video....well done
It's all torn down now and probably reassembled in Mexico.
Great video Chip, I retired from this plant too. I saw a lot of people I know, they were like family, I still can't believe it's gone.
I worked at the plant from 1994 to the closing of the plant in 2006. We all was like one big family.
What was the last ever vehicle?

@josh198869 Yea and corporations think that should be the norm, as a retired UAW retiree I worked many a 58 hour week but the UAW made sure we were well compensated. Proud to be UNION .
i work a 50 hours a week how about that
My beautiful burgandy 1975 Mercury Colony Park was built at this plant.
American Loud... American Proud!!!
Happy Labor Day 2010 to all! We appreciate everything that the working men and women do for all year, and would be nowhere with out all of you there to make the little things that we take for granted each day.
I just heard this song on the radio for the first time 2 days ago and have been looking for the name for 2 days and couldn't find it until now.
both of my parants worked at the hazelwood plant my mom 17 years 1976-1993 my dad 31 years 1964-1995 it was sad to see that plant close lots of stories over the years
I doubt that barely any were lost to overseas, the products they made were not in heavy demand anymore.
Explorers are still big sellers. Built in Chicago now i believe. The cars aren't really big sellers anymore. SUVS are still big sellers.
And with that, techno music was invented.
What a bummer a place with such a rich history closed! I wonder how many of those jobs have been lost to overseas workers. Sadly, America is losing its manufacturing expertise.
i´m was working in the ford motor company cuautitlan assembly plant in mexico city. from 1991 to 1998, just righ the plant is closed a recoversion for the 2010 new fiesta, in december 2009 more than 850 workers are fired. the goog times is over. in the plant the partners say dont end ford. very good salaries.
I love all your videos! Check out my explorer vids. I wish I could have seen St. Louis before it closed, but I have been to Louisville Assembly Plant twice where my 92 was made. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, I'm afraid wouldn't let me take the majority of the videos I shot. I've heard that the tapes were throw out in the trash. That's Fords way. I did manage to sneak out some and I do have some more to up load but the best are on TH-cam now. Again thank you for watching and for your kind words. Chip
People in general majority of the U.S. just dont realize that standards of labor(40 hour work week),health and safety etc... are owed to Unions. Nice video, thanks~ from UAW 900
Thanks for watching
