    Only just heard off this sport. Is it basically Ice Hockey but played on a hard indoor surface?

    Objectively, I had never heard of this sport until tonight until reading about Latvia and going 'Oh what's that?'. I watched a minute and a half of this to conclude this is just a stupid sport. Like indoor mini hockey played on a court players can run across in four steps with oversized sticks. How can you get excited about it.

      It's really fun to play. I'm Swedish and we played it almost everyday at school.

      +platypusboy i play in the Third highest divison in sweden. I never watch professional flourball, i only watch it if i watch my own team live. It's actually really fun to play, but watching isn't always that intresting.

    • @tomfou
      @tomfou 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The court is 36-40 m(118-131 ft) long. The sticks are smaller than in hockey. You should really watch more of the game, that isn't enough.

    Not hating, this sport looks fun and competitive. But don't say it's faster than hockey, we all know it's not.

      Some times floorball can be realy slow game and some thimes realy fast game. Faster than hokey. But ovetall hockey is faster game

      The passing tempo is 10 times higher than hockey cos the ball is easier to control than a puck. But hockey is faster cos you skate (obviously)

    • @tomfou
      @tomfou 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this is old, but you don't seem to realize what people mean with "faster", sure the players move faster in hockey, but in floorball at it's best the passes, turns, dribbleing is way faster than that of hockeys, that is what we mean by saying floorball is faster.

    I used to play this as a kid. We called it uni-hock back then. It was a lot of fun.

    I don't understand why people hate on floorball, or call it a lesser version of hockey. Ice hockey and even roller hockey and conventional ball hockey are arguably some of the most equipment- and infrastructure-intensive team sports on the planet. It can be prohibitively expensive to get into hockey. So is it poor man's hockey? Could be called that, but does that make it an invalid sport? No. Floorball is more refined than basketball, where the final 2 minutes of games are dedicated to exploiting foul rules with ineffectual consequences. At the end of the day, sports are about having fun and maybe showcasing some impressive skills and coordination. Floorball certainly looks like it requires skills and looks like a ton of fun. I hope to see it in the Olympics in 2020 and I really hope to see Floorball continue to grow here in the US.

    • @evanbrown2594
      @evanbrown2594 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does look fun, I play lots of hockey and this looks like it has lots of elements in it similar. Hockey is expensive and violent and not for everyone so anyone who hates on this sport is because it is similar and not the same is probably missing out on fun.

    If you guys just tried it instead of writing negative comments it would've been much easier. Floorball is fun to play. It's not like it is gayer it is a whole different game.

    • @volleyballurrrr
      @volleyballurrrr 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. It's amazing how people think that not having access to an ice or roller rink (or merely enjoying playing on foot) makes a sport "gay". I suppose those people play ice basketball too.

    Okay bro police radar lies then.. and you can rise your stick as high as you want unless you hit someone with it lol you just aren't allowed to touch the ball over your knee level..

  • @ArchihusInk
    @ArchihusInk 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah, nice shooting..If a man stands close to the guy shooting he'll knock him out. Ok, cool he shot 180km/h but ALL of the shots where high stick. It's not phsysical possible to throw a 23gram ball at the speed of 100km/h...

  • @xrsreign
    @xrsreign 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dude wake up! Pros can shoot normally about 180km/h. Radar doesn't lie. And I'm pretty sure that I know how much a ball weights as I used to stand in front of it for like five years. /watch?v=9W_HZ0DgpMI watch it and learn

  • @ArchihusInk
    @ArchihusInk 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also, 70km/h was wrong, MY fault..it's about 120km/h.

  • @ArchihusInk
    @ArchihusInk 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hahahaha! 100km/h? Hahahaha, how old are you? 12? It's NOT possible to throw a ball(floorball) at such a high speed. You are aware of that the ball weighs 23 grams? It's not a problem to smash a ball into 100km/h with a stick, but your "130km/h" shots are no way close to legit.

  • @xrsreign
    @xrsreign 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    70km/h... wow that's a lot. btw I throw that ball almost 100km/h and shoot about 130 km/h and I was a goalkeeper..

  • @ArchihusInk
    @ArchihusInk 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh I don't? Even tho I'm a junior player I play against adults in the Adult's league. I'm fully aware of how fast the "pros" shoot. We got one on our team that shoots "legal" balls in 70km/h He can shoot over the entire field aaaand hit the goal on the other side. So ehm Orccu, don't talk if you don't know shit. K, thnx bai ;)

  • @Orccu
    @Orccu 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You have no idea how fast the professional players actually shoot the ball.

    street hockey is tougher on physicall contact, this sport is faster and requires a lof of time for your stick technique to develop, but yeah if you are good in one, transition to other one is not that difficult.

    I just now learned that floorball exists. I notice two things: 1. It is like hockey but with no ice. 2. It is popular in northern European countries like Sweden and Finland here. Conclusion: The Swedes and Finns have said "We like hockey, but screw this ice stuff. We've had enough."
