I travelled in India for a year and then lived there for four and used to love to see the Mandana and Rangoli painted by the Hindu women outside their homes and temples, such beautiful art that changed from region to region and some very special ones during religious festivals, the women were taught by their grandmothers and mothers from a very young age to paint these designs and some became extremely proficient artists.Some took commissions from the more afluent of the hindu society to paint extremely elaborate designs outside their homes and wedding venues
