Ian Lavender (Pte. Pike) A Tribute, DAAS weekend 11th May 2024.
A few clips from Dad's Army my tribute to Ian Lavender, and shown at our DAAS weekend in Thetford. This is only a few as it's impossible to do justice to Ian's work in a 5 minutes, but it does include my favourite from 'Ring Dem Bells'.

Don't Forget the Diver, Coltishall is the location of the boat house and raft scenes from this episode. There was so much laughing it was very difficult to keep the camera steady, but great fun.

One of the last video interviews I did with Jimmy Perry in his London flat in 2015. He was a lovely straight forward man and great supporter to the society. Tony Pritchard.

Frank Williams recalls the many DAAS events he has attended. Frank has attended every Bressingham weekend since 1999, 22 in all, various coach tours of STANTA, 71 film set and various local events up and down the country. Frank was a very loyal supporter of the Appreciation Society always very interesting and bringing pleasure to everyone he met. Filmed 15th September 2021.

A recorded greeting message with Frank William for the Dad's Army Croft & Perry weekend 24th September. Frank had decided that his mobility and Covid issues would prevent him coming to Thetford this time. Unfortunately the Bell did not have a lift and the stairs were now too much to manage. Recorded 15th September 2021 Edgeware.

Lovely old faces missed one and all ❤
Lovely old faces ❤ Thank you for sharing ❤
RIP Thanks for all the laughs ❤
I was born in York and still live here....didn't have any idea this was happening gutted.
Private Sponge brilliant.
Now all gone off to the Novelty Rock Emporium in the sky all besides Capt Mainwaring and Sergeant Wilson who have raced to the Marrigold Tea Rooms as they heard there's an extra current in today's Rock Cakes...Love and miss them all. 🙏❤️
Bril!. A lot of happy memories there. RIP Ian.
So lovely to see this after so long, I had never thought I’d see the videos. Such an amazing day and I feel very lucky to have been able to take part. Yes, That’s a very young me being the awkward MC!
2:21 Who is that crude fellow? There's dirt under his fingernails.
The wonderful Mrs Fox....... I know she has an actress name but she will always be Mrs Fox to me.
Looked like a lovely day.
Me, too. I stumbled upon Dad's Army on TH-cam and can't get enough of it.
Don't know what it is that draws me too it. I find it calming as well as entertaining.
Nobody can compete with these folk today....purely because the humour and style is receding. Such a shame.
Classic, my genre.
I love Dad's Army: every episode was hilarious! The writers and producers and the actors all played their part brilliantly.
Thank You...Good to see.
Bless em all. and God bless you!
Where's Mrs. Mannering ?
Bless you, Vicar ♡♡♡
RIP, a wonderful actor and gentleman. I loved Dad’s Army as a boy. Still love it now.
Thank you Jimmy Perry, for this absolutely brilliant show, "Dad's Army." I love Dad's Army.
Just discovered Dad's Army a few months ago. Been hooked on it ever since. 👍
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Tony for these memories! Dad's Army has meant So much to me. There will never be another programme like it.
Still a trouper after it all. Wonderful
Hodges was Mainwaring's Nemesis, we hated him! However, Bill Pertwee was marvelous and we loved him!
Great bloke. ⚘ 🇦🇺
What an amazing recollection!
That Bailey Bridge in the Buckenham Tofts Park area has probably been replaced since this video. Good old Dad's Army, fond memories as with all its brother and sister shows from that era. TV comedy doesn't seem as good or even half as funny, after Lime Grove and the original TVC went.
No it’s still there looks he same
Not very funny, but a lot of charm. What a clever Man he was.
No thank you thank you thank you . A legend truly
Great man best comedy ever or with paa with faulty towers cheers wally
not now vicker makes me lol
Where was Ian Lavender ?
Turn That Light Out....
Very amateurish video recording.
Mr Hodges is being sarcastic..he absolutely loved meeting fans and had so much time in fact sometimes it was hard to get away 😁
They are ALL VERY SPECIAL!!
I really enjoy these guys. It's a fantastic series.
Timeless!!!!!!!!😃😄😊🤣😆😅🥰😍🤩😘😇🙃
Too short. Is there more to this event?
Was the actress who played mrs pike there? Couldnt recognise her
No long deceased by then.
@@tonypritchard3520 oh pity. Thanks fr the reply
Go to your eternal rest, Rev. RIP.
Dads Army always a go to for alaugh.RIP to that wonderful group
r.i.p. kind sir
The best British humor ever,
I did a shed load of training there with the Signals.
I had no idea he passed away. That's so sad ☹️ RIP
And then there was one, but there must be hundreds of Cast and Crew still going. Perry and Croft, a gift from the Gods.
Great potential. Very well done.
