I drove leylands here in Australia used the clutch to start moving them did not use it anymore until I had to stop .most drivers mastered this technic quickly .get the rpm right and driving was fun .

Turned much better than a 'Power Steering' VOLVO. These buses were built on truck Chassis and did not have air cushion suspension. The sound of the engine was simply gorgeous.

The floor shift probably isn't synchronized. The driver keeps clashing the gears. Maybe he should double-clutch before shifting.

Is the gearbox in this bus still ok? The gear shifts were terrible. He should apply the clutch when in neutral between the gears.

We in Chennai were extremely proud of Ashok Leyland buses because they were made in our city . I remember the Leyland Tiger buses . They had an almighty roar . They were all transferred to Kolkata for what reason I don’t know .

Enjoyed the old school sounds there. Have always appreciated big diesels.
