    Hey, I want to give you some honest feedback. I’m trying to replace brushes in my Dewalt and I really needed a video that would just get straight to it and show me how. Your video I really had to filter through a lot of stuff to find what I needed.and your video is titled how to replace carbon brushes. But when I watched it, it was very tough to find it the info that I needed.

      Thank you for your feedback. I meant to do a video that would explain the whole process for people who never repair or replace carbon brushes. I understand some people are tech savvy and know more on tool repair process! I'll try to make my future repair videos shorter or title them properly. I have seen some TH-cam videos with time stamp that take one straight to the right content. I think is an optional tool to navigate videos easily. I need to find it and make my videos easier to navigate. Thank you for your honest feedback. I appreciate it a lot. Have a wonderful day and GOD bless!

    My dewalt did776 doesn’t work but light does,brushes completely worn out ,I don’t want to buy bushes and find still not working ,would that be reason drill not working,great video

    • @arqubits
      @arqubits 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yessss, that's the reason the drill won't run. If the light works it means the switch, cables and battery are working. The drill's armature won't turn because the carbons (brushes) are worn out and the electricity won't flow through the copper windings in the armature. This is what makes the magnetic fields that reppell each other to make the drill spin the armature. That's exactly what happened to my old drill. I went to school and became and electronic and electric technician and that's why I know the science behind it. So if you want your drill to work then replace the carbons yourself and with the help of my video or with a friend. Let me know if you have any more questions! Good luck to you my friend!! 👍👊

    • @arqubits
      @arqubits 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Onur. Thank you very much for looking and subscribing to my Channel. There are 3 main parts that affect your speedometer and odometer. These are the transmission, the speed sensor/w cable and the heads up speed display. Choosing one or the other is a hit and miss. I would check each device first before changing one or the other. The main reason I chose to the replace the speed sensor first is because I had another Civic that I can troubleshoot this part without buying the part or because is was the cheapest part to replace first. Then go with the other parts like the cable or the speed display then lastly the transmission. So, this process of test and elimination helps you find what part is the one that is causing the issues. You may also test the speed sensor with the multimeter and spin it to see if it is good. Mine burnt by wire fry cables and this fixed my issue. Another time in another Civic I had the speed sensor went out and another time the speed display went out. So, for my experience the speed display will go out first then around the same time the speed sensor will go out too. Next the speed cable can break and lastly the transmission can go out. I hope this methodical explanation can help you decide what component to change first. Wishing you a great and blessed day!!

    does it check engine light if sonething wrong with the speedometer?

    • @arqubits
      @arqubits 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Be aware that not because the engine light is "On" your speed sensor or speedometer or odometer in the instrument panel is bad. Check your engine light codes at your auto parts store or use a code scanner. Replace your speed sensor if you get a speed sensor error or after you replace your instrument panel first. The speed sensor rarely goes bad. It may go bad until your car is 250 miles. So go step by step troubleshooting your issue first then choosing what to replace first then second according to your engine code scanner result. I hope this advice was of help. Let me know if you have more questions. Have a wonderful day!!

    I put a brand new speed sensor in my 93 honda civic 1.5 lt and I get nothing in the dash for fast going . The old would jump up down in speed .so would did do wrong with the new sensor I get no reading on the dash .does anybody know how fix my problem . ?

    • @arqubits
      @arqubits 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For my experience here half of the time the speed sensor is bad, the other half is the odometer instrument cluster panel. No tell which one is the issue until you replace both. I highly recommend changing the instrument cluster panel first before you replace the speed sensor. The dealer instrument cluster is expensive so get a used cluster for 125 or 150. This would last another 50 to 100 miles on the car. Then by then you either sold the car or your engine goes bad or you need to replace it, maybe transmission, and the speed sensor.. too. Good luck.

      Look on TH-cam there are full breakdown or gear boxes cleaning and rebuilt of drills. They are similar gear boxes in few models. These videos would give you an idea on how to reassemble your gear box again. Remember when you perform maintenance on your drill try not getting the gear box loose or it would be hard to put it back. Good luck.. Sir. .

    What is the part that the sensor bolts into called?!?!?!

    • @arqubits
      @arqubits 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The part that the speed sensor mounts to is the transmission. Beneath that there is a wire moved by the transmission which in turns moves the speed sensor. The speed sensor then in turns increases AC current or voltage from Zero to a predetermined voltage or current. The computer analyzes this data and gives readings of speed and helps manage other processes like fuel management and timing and odometer readings. You can test the speed sensor by removing it and running a drill on the outside as to give it speed with a drill bit or other tip and measure the AC voltage or current of the sensor with a multi-meter. Here is a link that explains better how to test a speed sensor. www.wikihow.com/Test-a-Vehicle-Speed-Sensor-with-a-Multimeter Remember the problem with my speedometer in my case (90%) was the cluster or instrument panel speed head and electronics in the cluster. ( I changed it 3 times so far in 400K miles in several years since I bought used clusters due to cost). Sometimes it could be dirt, corrosion, carbon deposits, lose connector or fried or cut wiring to the sensor or the sensor itself. In my experience looking at the manual troubleshooting steps or checking or replacing the cheaper parts first then the most expensive ones seemed a good option. This is up to you. I hope this was of help to you. Have a great day.

    If the speed sensor is bad will the odometer stop working as well?

    • @arqubits
      @arqubits 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the odometer will work. It is a stand alone system. It is connected to a separate wire to the transmission. The speed sensor is for the car's computer to manage fuel, ignition spark, timing, speed rate and more. The speed sensor sends a signal to the computer from a 3 or 4 electrical wire, depending in what vehicle it is. I hope this answers your question. • @arqubits
      @arqubits 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am glad my video was of help to you. Yes, old vehicles, normal wear and tear, vibration and temperature changes mess up the electrical component in a car. Corrosion from damp climates, dew or humidity, broken parts, carbon deposits and vibration are the most common cause of failure in electrical components. Preventive maintenance by inspecting, cleaning, and adding contact cleaner and electrical grease will make components last longer. Usually the process is around 5 to 8mins. While recording a video and explaining it adds extra time. Also, I noticed I was using a small microwave with low power at my nephew's home. At home I have a big one that cooks quicker at high power mode. Don't forget to add 1 or 2 tbsp of salt to increase the temperature and help the egg not cracking while boiling. Thank you for your comments and visiting my channel. Best regards. AR.

    My CEL code on (code 17) it's speed sensor. Once I got a brand new speed sensor the speedometer still didn't work as usual (but the remains panel, ie: RPM, fuel indicator are just fine) and CEL still on. I'm afraid I bought a replica one not an OEM. Next actions: 1. Buy an OEM speed censor But if its fail again, is it possible that the panel of speedometer failure? What do you think?

      Hi. For what I have seen is that the instrument cluster panel's electronics go bad after 200,000 miles or so. I have replaced 2 cluster panels so far in my car and my speed needle worked just fine. It stopped again recently and I bought a OEM speed sensor because, it caught on fire by faulty writing. After its replacement the speed needle still don't work. So, I know I just need to get another instrument cluster panel. The new ones are expensive that why I look online for used but, good or in junk yards. So, my best guess for you too is replacing the instrument panel if your miles are near, at or past 200k. I did the same with others Honda cars I had in the past and that fixed the problem. Don't buy the speed sensor again until you replace the instrument cluster first. I hope this helps you. Thank you for reaching out to me with questions. I appreciate looking at my channel.

      @@arqubits Thank you for this reply, really appreciate it :) Now its around 150k on mileage. Yes I agree and considering to replace the speed instrument panel only. However I just curious since I never replace it by OEM (will borrow from friend with normal condition) to firm before I replace the speed instrument panel.

      That will be a great choice to borrow the instrument panel if you can. By the way removing the instrument panel is not hard. It only requires to remove like 4 screws in the instrument panel itself and remove the wiring harness. Reassembly is the reversal of removal. I haven't done a video on that yet. But, I promise you it is very easy. I will do an instrument panel replacement video later myself and posit it. Wish you good luck. Thank you for watching, thumbs up, subscribing and supporting my channel. Have a great day!!

      So the speed sensor has 3 wires negative, positive and signal wire(goes to ecu, and spliced to cluster speedometer signal wire)

      @@ricedemon9183 Hi Rice. The purpose for adding salt to water when hard boiling an egg is to the increase the temperature of the water for better cooking. Also the salt in the water prevents an egg from cracking. If you don't have salt at the moment then don't use it. Just make sure your water is boiling at 212F/100C then add the eggs and boil at least 30 more seconds and leave them in the water a few minutes cooking. Then you can peel them off. If you don't get an initial hot water before adding the eggs this will make the skin hard to peel and they won't cook well. Don't use sugar instead of salt. It won't help any. You can later add anything to your eggs while eating. That's your preference. Salt doesn't add flavor to the eggs while cooking at all. Next time you go to the grocery buy some salt to aid the cooking process. Salt is very inexpensive. Thank you for your questions, comments and visiting my channel. Best wishes!! AR.

    My speedometer started jumping up and down then quit all together. Im a suming its the speed sensor?

    • @arqubits
      @arqubits 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Not necessarily. It all depends on several factors. 1. How many miles your car or truck have? If the vehicle has over 200k or more miles, then your instrument cluster maybe going out. In my car I have changed the instrument cluster 3 times. The car has a new engine and transmission and the instrument cluster start going bad after 180 or 200k miles. The only time I changed the speed sensor was when my wiring and speed sensor burned due to fried sensor wiring. 2. If your vehicle don't start at all, then your have to check all the components that make the vehicle start. (I mentioned them in my video original notes. If all components are good then check the speed sensor for continuity in 2 of the contacts with a multimeter and spin it with your fingers. You will get close and open circuit and the multimeter will beep. (Turn the sound on). Then you see if the speed sensor is bad and replace it. (You can also test it in the car . Turn the engine on and have someone test for 12v on and off (on the millimeter) use test pins to black wire and other wire of sensor. (Some sensors are 2 wires and others are 3 wires. Don't use the steady 12volt feed wire but, sensor output wire. (Colors my vary depending on vehicle). Otherwise you have to check more components. Also the main relay and computer may go out after 300 or 350k miles. I replaced them both too. One at a time after careful troubleshooting. 3. If your vehicle still runs and the odometer still working but not the speed gauge, then you may have a bad instrument cluster. 4. If your odometer is not working but the speed gauge is, then the wire to the transmission is broke for the odometer. 5. If odometer counter and speed gauge don't work but vehicle start and runs, then you most likely have a bad instrument cluster. So, you have to troubleshoot your issue before you start changing parts. Mainly when the speed sensor don't work (attached to the transmission), then the vehicle won't start. Even if your starter coil(s), starter switch (in steering column), engine starter, starter relay, computer, fuel pump and sparkplugs/wires and rotor are good, if the sensor is bad or the wires to the sensor are lose or making bad contact or fried, then your vehicle won't start. You must fix this first. I wish I could solve your problem easily but, it all depends of what component is malfunctioning. Check what I told you and then you will see it the problem is your instrument cluster going bad, bad contact of the wiring connector to the instrument cluster, or rusted connector in instrument cluster terminal. This will cause your speed gauge not work. If your vehicle runs, then the problem is not the speed sensor. I hope this helps. Do some troubleshooting then you can find out. Good luck.
