Its a 2.5ltr None Turbo Diesel.

Hi Jeff. Our van is pretty much identical, buy I cam see some things that have been changed in ours. You have a superb example of a great model there. A pleasure to see.

@@helenjeffontheroad5313 Yes I definitely enjoy them - you make a cracking job of it. I'm also in the process of figuring out solar panels for our Talisman. I plan to use unistrut and fix it through into the two wood battens that run front to back above the side lockers. My ceiling and insulation is out at the moment so I can see all the structures clearly. Let me know if you'd like some pics to show you were strong points are.

Hi Jeff. Just bought the same model, on a 1990 reg. Currently stripping out most of the original electrics to do some upgrades, as well as replacing a lot of the ceiling as the roof vents had clearly leaked for years. Quite a project but I love the van and am really looking forward to getting some time in her. All the best. 🙂

@@helenjeffontheroad5313 The 12volt socket on main panel. From memory I dont think there is enough room. Standard socket too large and needs a bigger hole. But not sure. Cheers from old George

That engine just purrs like a kitten.
Serviced regular, thats all.
@@helenjeffontheroad5313 there's just something about the diesels that purr that make them so nice. Cummins has built a few over the last years that are nearly as quiet as a conventional engine. To me that says that the engine is far more complex and hence more prone to breakage. The older diesels just run and run and run with very little maintenance.
Timeing belt next to change. il be putting Antifreeze in this week, so another video due
Argh these small jobs can make a big difference and make life easier. Theres always something that needs doing. That multi pin Din plug goes into the water heater control box. Normall the front comes off and there is a socket......Cheers from old George 👍🤠

Hi. Ariel is a August TV Ariel. Works great. But not good in poor reception area's. Booster works great with it. Hope this helps.
Hi Jeff, I’m just about to purchase a van identical to yours. It’s a year older.All seems well with it, needs a few minor cosmetic tweaks ( don’t they all at this age). Can you offer any advice on what to look out for or any pitfalls? Any advice is appreciated.👍 Great informative videos by the way...
Hi. All older vans need attention. Check for welding under wheel Arches. Also scuttle pannel just below Windscreen. In corners. Check for damp around Sky lights. Hope this helps.
@@helenjeffontheroad5313 I will go over with care before handing over the cash. The places you mentioned seem to be ok. There’s a couple of spots above the driver’s door and under the wheel arches but apart from that, All seems well...

Great stuff. You could be anywhere. Run a hose pipe so its sprinkling water on van and get your neighbours to rock the van. It would be like wild camping in Scotland. Great idea during lockdown.
