How to blow the shofar - with a special secret for beginners
มุมมอง 121K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Basic instruction on blowing the shofar, including special secret techniques
Thank you so very much for your extremely helpful video! Shannah Tovah 5785 !!
Thank you. Very interesting and instructive.
❤
Nice cover at the end!
Comment faites-vous des sons différents ?
Get a trumpet mouthpiece. Don't get a Bach brand, they're too expensive. Get a Blessing brand, size 7C. Now, once you have that mouthpiece in hand, go to a home improvement store and get some flexible tubing the mouthpiece fits into. Get about a 2-foot piece, maybe 1-1/2 foot. Now you have a practice shofar. Practice on that while watching TV or any time you have some time free.
*PRACTICE*
Nothing. It must be too small. Im not getting anything and my mouth HURTS
Awesome! I got it to work!
Toda raba this was very helpful, I'm practicing now!
All of you deceived! You better wake up out of your slumber. The shofar is not of the Ghabaray people and the Higher Power of Abrahm/aka Abraham, Ya’ohtsakhak/aka Isaac, and Ya’ohghakab/aka Jacob. When you venture away from what’s written you are changing his Shapah Barorah/aka Pure Language.
That’s not even the type of horn the Ghabaray/aka Hebrew people even used. The shofar is a made up Jewish thing. You will not find that in Thorah/aka Torah nor will you find it in The Thaiodah/aka Testimony. The horns in scripture are of silver NOT OF AN ANIMAL HORN! COME ON PEOPLE WAKE UP AND DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK AND SEARCH!!!!!!!
Shut up
What is the name of the silver horn that they used?
@@AvrahamYairStern If you confess your sins to God, repent of them, and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior in your heart with faith you will be saved 😊
Thank you kind sir.
Thank you
Yep this will take practice. Don’t try with a migraine. 😱

Think of blowing raspberries. Practice on your arm first. Get your lips wet also.and go for it.
Nice hava naguila hava..❤
I'm getting a shofar soon and I can't wait how do I stay motivated if I can't do it at first
Thank you!!! Great teaching!
Thank you so much! You explained this so well! I had a hard time with everyone else's instructions
I'm moving and my shofar is in storage. I can't wait until we are reunited. ❤
Where did you get that it is beautiful ❤
Thank you so much 🙏
My girls loved this video. Got us moving in the right buzzy direction. Thank you!
I'm sorry. That sounds terrible.
B”H, great and entertaining at the same time!! I would say that the idea of using a trumpet mouthpiece to practice in the beginning is a simple secret, which is really great! Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this. This will really help my practice in the lead up to Rosh Hashanah
Thanks finally got it (during this video)
This helped a lot thank you!
Thank you for this video! My husband bought me a shofar because I saw one on the series, The Chosen, and really wanted one. I tried it, got light-headed, and got no sound. Thanks to your video, I'm now off to a good start. Only problem...it scared the heck out of my 14 year old dog and he ran from the room with his tail between his legs🤣
My sisters cats come to her running when they hear it!
@@Cynthia99911 I wish I could get my dog used to it. I tried giving him a treat, after he gets scared, but he's too scared to eat the treat😜 I want to practice but he's always with me.
I've been wanting a shofar for a couple of years, finally ordered one, and it came yesterday! My cat is not yet sure what he thinks about the whole experience.
I wanna practice but the problem is my neighbors dont wanna hear it lol
It's not their property and you aren't doing it all day.
I have a new and rather long Shofar, problem Is it smells and tastes like Cow Dung. How can this be corrected? YUK!
There are some shofar-safe oils sold online that hydrate and seal the shofar and keeps it lasting longer and less naturally stinky 🙂 it gets more intense in smell as you practice on it and it gets internally wetted by your breath, fair warning ❤

Any tips for someone without teeth/ it is all together harder .
if you are able to blow a rasperry with your mouth, either the front or side, it shouldn't be impossible. (blowing a rasperry being making the farting sound with your lips, no tounge or teeth involved.
@@ElijahEystberg Thank you I will try .
I'm so glad I found this video! I saw another one before this one, tried it based on his instructions, but couldn't get it. I kept searching, found yours and, within 5 minutes, I was able to do it! 🤸♀🤸♀🤸♀🤸♀🤸♀🤸♀🤸♀ Thank you! ☺☺☺
God Bless you! Thank you!
SHALOM GREAT LESSON ON THE SHOFAR I WANT TO LEARN TO PLAY IT FOR MY CONGREGATION
Thank u
It’s hard to learn when you don’t have teeth but I finally got it
lol your terrible lol thanks for letting me in on the secret lol
Love
Thank you for the lessons. Maybe some day I'll get one and try.
Bless God
I still don't understand buzzing
I have tried for years. My younger children were able.
I managed one sound yesterday, twice, but had trouble today producing it.
a shofar is our god
Where i can find shofar like this?
It depends on where you live. If you're in or near a city with a large Jewish population, there will likely be a Jewish bookstore or gift shop, which will have a wide variety of sizes and styles. You can also just google "shofar" online and find one. I would recommend staying away from anything that is artificially embellished (decorative metal plating, etc).
Thanks so much! It was VERY helpful for me and my sister. It worked! So happy!
Hahhahahaha... No secret.. Okok... 😅
I can vouch for the "practice on a mouthpiece" advice! My mom plays French Horn in a small orchestra and she keeps a spare mouthpiece in her car, and toots along to the music on the radio. It really builds up your strength! Good luck to everybody learning!
