You skipped a very important part for beginners, how to rotate the fuel pump into the tank correctly
This worked just as you said. I took out the rubber pieces and flipped the washer. Lowered my 2003 Heritage rear fender almost to the whitewall. Rides just fine. Great video.

Thanks for the video and great tutorial on the seat issues. I have a 2012 Vulcan 900, and my seat has been stuck for 6 months now. After following your advice I got it unstuck in 5 minutes.

@@shaunmano it is common for those models. Don’t got to look hard to find dozens of forums about that same sound. The fact that lots of guys with that same bike have that same tick makes it a common issue.
Good day, sir! I have a super tip for your next projects. Instead of using 3m double sided tape, buy some "Urethane Windshield Adhesive". That's what we use here in Brazil. After this adhesive/sealant is done curing you can even hang a car to it and it won't budge!

@@DrakeAllen-x6n well all I know about this one is that it is a ridgid frame from bmc but I’d say you can’t go wrong with a paughco frame for a custom build

Do you lose access to the rear passenger control buttons with this stereo on an Electra glide like yours?
@@Logaweed great question I didn’t think to check that. You do lose access to those buttons with this, or atleast mine are not functional. I’m not 100 percent sure mine worked before though because we never mess with them but imagine somewhere in that harness was the wires for those controls.

With that open flame, you’re not worried about a flash fire in your paint area from all the fumes accumulated
@@JasonOrr-z2t not at all the area was still very well ventilated, the fire just put off enough her so I could paint on a 30 degree day

Loving your painting videos! I have watched them more times than I can count BUT could you replay with a step by step process. So far I have clean the metal with a something like a simple green, follow up degreaser/wax remover, sand with 180 grit till it reaches that dull finish, wipe with an acetone or something to clean the surface. Spray the underside of fenders with some sort of rustoleum or whatever to protect them. You sprayed a few primer coats on the top surface than sanded 180, 320, 600 (wet sand) than sprayed a few layers of final top coat? Finish with clear coat?
@@PHATchucks thank you! that all seems about right. •Clean •sand w/ 180 •clean underside •spray with rust protective spray paint •prime top side •180,320, then 600 wet •spray 3 coats of base •5-10 minute flash time depending on temperature •spray 3 coats of clear(same flash time) •don’t touch for 24 hours
@@dixiegaragecustoms You don't do any wet sanding of the clear coat? I've been going down the rabbit hole watching all your painting videos lol. If I want to do a two tone/pin stripe paint job I would do what is outlined above - Wet sand the primer coat - spray 3 coats of base paint - let it dry and add my pin striping tape - spray another 3 coats of top coat - let it dry - 3 coats of clear and leave alone to cure?

Spray the first color, let flash then mask and spray the second color. Just like how it was done on this Yamaha.

@@dixiegaragecustoms Hey, so recently I rebuilt a 2010 Vulcan that had been sitting for ten years. I was pretty sure i got all of the rust out of the tank. It was running fine for about 3 months. Now I can barely get it up to 40mph and it bogs down bad when I give it throttle, so I'm pretty sure this is the problem. My question is, since this a is a brand new pump, will just taking it out and cleaning it and the filter fix the problem?

Thanks for the video and great tutorial on common issues. I just bought an 07 Vulcan 900, awesome bike so far.. But stalls at idle, have to keep giving it throttle or it'll turn over. Also it does bog down a bit when I give it throttle, its like it gets choked up. I tested the battery and it seems fine. Could just be old gas in the tank. If it keeps doing it in a couple weeks I'll watch this again to see if I can clean out the tank and clean the fuel pump

@@RickFossett thank you! yeah just remember these are opposite of how normal shocks work, they pull apart not press so the further away that nut is the better. Dont forget loctite!
