Like a Child - beautiful song about receiving the kingdom of God
Rich wrote this song about childlike faith for our 2018 album "There's a Light". A powerful ballad about receiving the kingdom like child, based on Matthew 18.

When I was a child I was pure in heart and mind
As the years went past, I left childlike ways behind
When I learned of Jesus, I knew I’d found the way
I wanted to be more like Him every single day
So I read the Holy Bible, every single word
I got to know Him more, with everything I’d learned
But knowledge and wisdom failed to light the flame
Instead I found something that knowledge can’t explain
Like a child I must become humble
Like a child I’ll draw near to Him
Like a child I’ll enter the kingdom
Like a child I’m free of sin
As a child there is understanding
As a child I’m born again
As a child I will find greatness
But I must become like a child again
And so began my journey on the straight and narrow road
I wanted to follow Jesus along the path that I must go
So I filled my mind and soul with God’s Holy Word
But I wrapped myself in law until the truth became a blur
I thought I knew it all because of everything I’d read
I thought I knew the way, but I had been mislead
When everything seemed clear, that’s when I failed to see
A simple truth, so profound, it drags me to my knees

I have all of Luke Powell’s solo stuff that I can find, (The Fruit of the Spirit is my every day go-to praising God and seeking His face commuting music) but it is much harder to find Crossroads music that I can purchase to download into my regular music files. (I’m not the most tech savvy nurse in God’s kingdom.) Thank you all for wonderfully uplifting and sincere music that spreads truth and makes much of Jesus.

I liked them both I had a lot of fun joy playing with my husband his one ma'am band harp flute whistle melodic for sure different genres
its nice, but we are talking about something that is the Battle hymn of the Republic, this is supposed to be dramatic and frightful, we are talking about unstoppable warriors in the army of the lord and this is the battle song of the USA , its supposed to be long march not a sunday dance it rolls along too smoothly, origionally this was to the tune of john browns body, a spiritual style song of abolishionests in the north of the usa during the civil war, about john brown might be in the ground but his mission continues in the army of the lord.
The rockversion is very disturbing - devilish, unrespectful and humanistic. 😢
