PLAYGROUND by Richard Powers, read by Edoardo Ballerini, Robin Siegerman, Eunice Wong, Pun Bandhu...
"The fate of continents is written in water," this audiobook professes, and the vital role of the ocean is at the heart of this expansive listening experience. Host Jo Reed and AudioFile’s Alan Minskoff discuss Richard Powers’s new audiobook, narrated by a full cast. At the start, the narrators' words flow forth, immersing the listener in four central characters and the minute details that comprise their respective worlds. Sections lack titles or labels, so the distinct voice of each narrator is key to distinguishing which story is which. All six narrators' performances are equally deft; in fact, there is a consistency in pace and tone that makes this complex story accessible.

Appreciate you introducing us to this! It sounds like an engaging read, which I love!
I'm listening to the book James and had to find out who the narrator was as it is narrated so fitting and perfectly. Mr. Hoffman has truly transformed himself into the main character and others. Impressive beyond words.
Love your voice ❤
Where do I find the audio book?
Appreciate the deeper dive. Does sound deeper than the title suggests, but sounds very intriguing!
Honestly i have found so many great audiobooks just by following John Lee, he brings the pages to life!
A special one! Being read by the author who is also a celebrity! 🎉 Usually some fascinating anecdotes in these. Didn’t know about the dyslexia. Interesting how she navigated that with this reading.
Yes, sort of like a perfect storm! ⛈
@@AudioFileMagazine I like the sound of that! 🎧
Sandra Oh is my goddess.

Suzy, my kids and I are loving you as Bastille! You remind us a bit of Eve from Interview with a Robot.
Why are you so excited Mr Ballerina for a thief who steals, then throwing Ezekiel under the bus for not shying away from sex in the bible? Are you only into sex when its against Gods law, and so hate Ezekiel for telling you what a pathetic loser you are? Calling a thief “extraordinary” but a prophet of God “unstable” shows where your priorities are, Mr Tutu Ballerina. “We always assume we understand the motivations behind peoples actions; it has to be for this it has to be for that. And then sometimes we discover that its something else entirely.” Same could be applied to Ezekiel, but instead you apply it to a thief. Just look at you glow at the prospect of breaking another Ten Commandment. Jesus said hell be back like a thief. Hope youre ready, Rambo.
Didn’t know he had a book! I like his music. Cool you have different cohosts, too. 😊❤🎉
