    Fellow INTJ female here - nice to meet some of my people 🤗 very excited to hear your ideas. I think Dark Academia essentially follows the Aristotelian tragedy arc, and it is academic obsession (with all of the associated tropes such as cults, murder, etc) which leads to the hero's downfall. I'm not sure if you guys ever got Morse or Lewis in the US, but they were old detective dramas set in Oxford (mainly the colleges) and every episode was basically Dark Academia. I'm low key obsessed even though the shows are so old now!
