This channel exists as a way to catalogue progress over time.
Sometimes audio and video are recorded separately, other times it's not. none of the audio is edited other than mixing and so forth. Each cover is done in a full take, although I obviously record over and over until I get a take that I'm happy with and has minimal mistakes.

I am only here to enjoy the music. I do not advocate for or endorse any of the themes or materials in any of the songs that I cover.

Wizard Slam -- Original Death Metal Song Playthrough
This is a guitar playthrough of one of the songs that I'm working on for an EP with my band. Hopefully we'll have the EP out in a year. The only stuff that still needs to be written is vocals, but that should be fairly easy. Hopefully some more stuff coming soon...
I'm not much of a guitar player, so take it easy on me. I can play just enough to write drivel like this.

Oh! Tengo Suerte -- Masayoshi Takanaka (Bass Cover)

Back with another Takanaka jam. Skip to around 1:00 if you don't want to watch the intro (or if you have a low attention span)
Sea Dragon -- Covet (Fretless Bass Cover)
มุมมอง 28510 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a song I learned a while ago, and recently started jamming on the fretless. On a fretted bass it's not too bad, but some of those runs on the fretless are still quite tough for me to play with proper intonation, so hopefully it's not too offensive! Also, I hope the camera shake isn't too distracting... I put my phone on my monitor and didn't notice until afterwards, and I wasn't about t...
トーキョー レギー (Tokyo Reggie) -- Masayoshi Takanaka (Fretless Bass Cover)
มุมมอง 91311 หลายเดือนก่อน
Those perceptive viewers may notice a slight change of pace in terms of genre for this song. This style of Japanese jazz fusion, funk, whatever you want to call it is just pure joy. I've fallen off my practice routine, so I'm hoping to get back into learning songs and making covers. There are a few mistakes, with a pretty obvious one towards the end... I apologize for my intonation; I'm still g...
Open Face Surgery -- Cryptopsy (Fretless Bass Cover)
มุมมอง 767ปีที่แล้ว
Some may recognize this 6-string bass from my previous videos, although I had it converted to a fretless and got an epoxy coating on top, and I think it sounds pretty fantastic. This song wasn't originally recorded with a fretless, obviously, but I've been super inspired by a TH-camr Kai den Hertog. If you want to see someone who can actually play a fretless bass well, check this video out: th-...
New Orleans Is the New Vietnam -- Eyehategod (Bass Cover)
มุมมอง 857ปีที่แล้ว
Hey, I'm back. Had a nerve injury in my left hand for a few months, then I was away from my basses for quite some time too. But, I'm back now. This song is ridiculously good, and while it's definitely on the easier side, it's groovy as hell. Seeing the boys in EHG play this song earlier this year was mind blowing. Hopefully I can do NOLA proud with this one. Schecter C-5 Silver Mountain Hyper L...
Scourge of Iron -- Cannibal Corpse (Bass Cover)
มุมมอง 1.5K2 ปีที่แล้ว
About time I got some Cannibal on here. Hopefully, Hammer Smashed Face will be up next, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Another pretty simple but fucking heavy song.
Executioner's Tax (Swing of the Axe) -- Power Trip (Bass Cover)
มุมมอง 8112 ปีที่แล้ว
An unbelievably sick song. A lot of it is quite simple, but it grooves pretty hard. Vocals are obviously badass in this one. Don't mind the stank face here RIP Riley. This song blew my mind when I first heard it
Grotesque Impalement -- Dying Fetus (Bass Cover)
มุมมอง 1.1K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Been wanting to do this one for a while, but the tremolo riff and the riff jumping back and forth between tapping has been giving me some trouble. As always, it's not perfect, but my first, better take was ended when my laptop went sleep in the middle of recording so...
Bringing Back the Glory -- Dying Fetus (Bass Cover)
มุมมอง 7382 ปีที่แล้ว
A groovy song for sure. Definitely not as hard as the stuff I've been doing recently, so it was nice to actually get this done the first take.
Graves of the Father -- Cryptopsy Bass Cover
มุมมอง 4602 ปีที่แล้ว
This has definitely been the hardest to record so far. Made several mistakes, but I was pretty fuckin tired of rerecording so I went with it. No point in trying to be perfect. Start recording and all the practice just goes out the window.
Flesh and the Power It Holds -- Death (Bass Cover)
มุมมอง 1592 ปีที่แล้ว
This one is kind of a doozy at almost 8 and a half minutes. Just so easy to make mistakes in that time, and there definitely were some. Audio and video done in one take
Gods of Rapture -- Meshuggah Bass Cover
มุมมอง 2593 ปีที่แล้ว
Ibanez BTB766 Darkglass Hyperluminal compressor Alpha omega dist Microtubes B7K Just a rough cover. Video and Audio done separately. DONT WATCH THIS ONE, it’s bad

nice man the drums are bit loud but sick asf
Thanks! I appreciate the note. We’re gonna get someone who actually knows what they’re doing to produce the EP
@iecarus Dudeee awesome I can't wait to hear it
This sounds so nasty. Why not throw some vocals on it.
That’s the plan. Whole EP is pretty much written except for vocals
@iecarus That's sick, I'm a fan! I'll be on the lookout for when it's finished!
This is awesome!!🤘
now this is talent
Thanks! Should be more to come soon
💯

Oh! I’ve been hoping for a cover like this!!! Fuck yeah
Excellent hair shirt and jamming
Thanks man!
Whats your hair products bro?
Gear used: Warwick corvette, Pacifica Curl Defining Cream, Hyper Luminal Compressor
Hey man great play. Would you attempt a cover of smoke of the white goblins album? Got a sick baseline.
I’ll have to check that album out! I’ve only listened to the Rainbow Goblins album, maybe I can give that one a try
@ yeah I like both a lot monochrome has my favorite baseline by far. The hardest for me to play as well
dope
Thanks!
great cover!! mightve gotten a crush on you but thats besides the point
Haha thank you!
Oh yeah
Yeah 👍
oh my god haha is that dog OK
Yeah he came out stronger than ever
Sansamp?
I'm using two Darkglass drives (Alpha Omega & B7K). I wish I could recreate this tone, but it's lost to time. Heavy on drive and treble, cut high mids and boost low mids I think. The single coil switch on this bass helped as well.
this in standar tuning on a 5 string?
This song is in C standard, but tuned to G standard as a 5 string, pretty much as low as I’d ever tune this bass
very nice
The plush in the background is such a vibe😂
Gotta put on a tough image for the death metal songs 😤
So good! Great tone.
Cool
Thanks
Fucking sick
Thanks, homie
delightful surprise, ecstatic to see this loved the unique embellishments, no idea how to can make the single finger trems work, sounds fantastic. i look forward to the upcoming content!
Damn, the man himself! Thanks for the compliments. You just motivated me to record one I’d been putting off
this is booty movin music, all hail Masayoshi Takanaka beautifully played, Julian Bass
this dude is bassed
I don't know what this guy is talking about, this has to be the heaviest cover he's done yet. Keep it up you beautiful man, sounds awesome. And RIP to the dog lost to the pool.
Monster version. Sounds great
You said it!! It really sounds like joy and good times!! You also make it sound like that!
Thanks, Martin!
Sick cover and sick bass
The bass and I appreciate that, thanks!
Beautiful, great job! I love this song, especially the bridge or whatever the part is with the guitar solo.
Thanks!
I love cryptopsy basslines fr
Agreed, those first two albums are full of sick bass lines

EHG is what you get when Black Sabbath did meth and heroin with Black Flag. Weaponized nihilism and feedback
What tuning?
C# standard
