Xixi Mahjong Introduction This tutorial will introduce a final revised version of Cantonese Mahjong rules, which does not include East, South, West, North, Fortune and other character tiles. The Red Dragon tile can be substituted for any other tile and when used as a scoring tile, it represents the number 10. Winning can only be achieved by drawing a tile oneself, and only the multiplier for a basic win is calculated. There are no other special ways to win. Number of Tiles and Types Number of Tiles: The game uses 112 tiles, including dots, bamboo, and characters numbered tiles, as well as Red Dragon tiles. Each numbered tile from one to nine has four copies, and there are four Red Dragon tiles. Types of Tiles: The basic tile types include sequences (three consecutive tiles of the same suit), triplets (three identical tiles), and pairs (two identical tiles). Basic Rules Banker: The banker is determined by drawing winds or randomly. Drawing and Discarding Tiles: Starting with the banker, players draw and discard tiles in a counterclockwise direction. Each player starts with 13 tiles, and the banker draws an extra tile. Red Dragon Function: The Red Dragon tile can substitute any tile to form sequences, triplets, or pairs. If a player needs a certain tile to complete a tile combination, and they have a Red Dragon in their hand, it can be used as the needed tile. Pong and Kong: Similar to regular Mahjong, players can form tile combinations by Pong (three identical tiles) or Kong (four identical tiles). However, drawing a tile after Pong or Kong is still performed normally from the wall. Winning Winning Conditions: Winning can only happen by self-draw. That is, the tile a player draws from the wall forms a complete hand (at least one pair as the eyes, others as sequences, triplets, or Pong). Drawing the Scoring Tile: When a player wins, the first tile from the remaining unseen tiles is drawn as the scoring tile. If the win is because of a Kong, a tile is drawn from the end of the wall as the scoring tile. A Red Dragon as the scoring tile represents number 10. Scoring and Winning Definition of Scoring Tile: The face value of the scoring tile (1-9, Red Dragon represents 10) is used to calculate the multiplier for winning. Multiplier for Basic Win: A basic win rewards a basic multiplier of one chip, plus the number represented by the scoring tile as an additional multiplier. For example, if the winning player draws a scoring tile of 5, each other player needs to pay (1+5) = 6 chips. Self-Draw Without Red Dragon: If a player wins by self-draw and the winning hand does not contain a Red Dragon, two additional scoring tiles are rewarded. These two scoring tiles also calculate the multiplier according to their face value. No Other Special Ways to Win: In this rule, only the multiplier for a basic win is calculated. There are no other special ways to win.
