Bro... We'd be good buddies. Dig this. Love catching large mouth... and small mouth... and rock bass... just all of em! For years I went from fishing rivers, ponds, and lakes, to streams and did nothing but Trout fishing. I moved from MD to WV in 19, and there's not much of a trout scene around here, but the Potomac and a bunch of lakes are nearby. Seems like everyone is chasing cats and bass on this side of the Potomac. I forgot how much better it feels when a small mouth hits your line than the tiny little nibbles of a trout. Anyhow, great content. I'm gonna be binging on this channel the next couple of days. Have a great Thanksgiving my friend. Much respect to a sneakerhead-fisherman.

My revo sx 8.0.1 doesnt cast that far for some reason. I'm a veteran baitcast fishermen im very experienced with it so it isn't an experience issue, even running 15lb fluoro and using something like a swimjig with some good weight, i can't cast far, no more than 30yds tops, my older revo s Reel casts much farther by far, hell so does my Revo x, my SX just casts pretty bad maybe i have a defective reel

This video is a year old but I just bought this reel so I thought I'd post a comment about this. This reel is not 9.1:1 gear ratio. It's more around 7.1:1. The other thing is it makes a weird grinding noise when the drag is engaged.

I watched a few videos, what I cant figure out is why dont you have more subscribers?

The fact that you can make the SX work. I have 28 set ups from Abu, Shimano, Daiwa, 13, Lews, Okuma. My dad got himself and I a Revo SX and I mean if it is NOT dialed into perfection it is all birdsnest. I dont even bother with braid cause it birdsnest. I got it dialed in and I throw swimjigs and it is one a Fenwick EliteTech. Sucks cause the setup is so light but on TackleWarehouse people say this thing birds nest. I have the STX as well but man this thing made me mad as hell lol

Dont take any notice of the drag rating on reels like this. Its one of the dodgiest things in fishing. Best to understand engineering , physics and what is actually relevant to the actual fishing conditions the reel is used in.

I actually purchased one of those from Amazon. It is a steal. Heads up though, it will exhibit "GHOST DRAG" from time to time and you have to loosen the drag until you think it will break and then reset it. Other than that it has been a BEAST OF A REEL. I am from Louisiana and I have reeled in 18 pound gars and a 12.5 pound cypress trout aka choupic with no problems.
