The 1908 was hammerless.
Hello sir, and a big thanks for this video on your Colt Army Special. The factory blue finish was still in very good condition for a 100+year old revolver. I was a cop from late 1971 to 2020, and during those working years my on-duty sidearm was the Colt Official Police .38 Special, with a 4-inch barrel, and a matt blue finish. Over the course of a lot of passing years of serving my community, my Colt suffered some hard cop wear and tear. Going in and out of my black leather duty holster, exposed to the wet and hot summers, the worse Georgia can provide. My Official Police (OP) was a post war production .38 six-gun that came from the Colt Factory in 1958. This OP was not a Department issue, it was privately owned, by myself. My Dad had purchased this second-hand OP from a local gun store for a Christmas 1971 gift. My Dad felt that his oldest son was better protected by a Colt .38 than the Department issued Smith & Wesson Model 10 that I was issued.I used both revolvers in my law enforcement years, the .38 S&W Model 10-5 with a 4-inch "standard" barrel, and a great looking Factory blue finish. I was "qualified" with both revolvers for duty carry and practice fire at the Pistol Range was something I enjoyed, and because of my frequent trips to the range, I had no problem qualifying. I would later purchase a nice looking Colt Army Special from a local gun shop for $150.00 out the door. A 4-incher in a faded blue steel finish. After getting my new prize home with me, I gave it a quick examination and good cleaning. Carried it to the police range and shot a few reloaded .38's just to get acquainted. It left the Colt Factory for a gun store in 1917, and after the initial sale my Colt would do some traveling before coming to Columbus Georgia and my purchase of it soon after. After some more range practice to get the "feel" of shooting this AS, that had some black rubber Hogue Combat Grips that I had swapped out with the factory grip panels that had a lot of mileage on them. According to the serial number my AS was over a 100-years old, but still in good condition for duty carry. That's right, duty carry. Back in 1992 our Dept went to the semi-auto pistol for duty carry. The .45 acp S&W 4586 Pistol,a stainless steel, double action only, 8-shot pistol was the new Department issue. I had been grand-fathered in with my .38's and since retirement was not too far away, I stayed with what I shot the best, and which handgun I had the most confidence in. Our Department would go through the S&W Model 66, the S&W 4586, and now the S&W M&P 9mm Pistol. I stayed my wheel guns for the duration, always shot higher than most of my brother/sister officers on Qualification Day. I loved my Colt, carried it most of the time, and very thankful to GOD that I never had to take a life to protect me or protect a civilian from a deadly attack. Thanks again my Heavenly Father! Sorry for the long length, since retirement I been meaning to that my Colt OP also!
gorgeous
Love it
Is this considered a j frame or a k ?
Yep I just bought the same ones for my kodiac. Should look awesome
Revolvazo.
Did you need an adapter for the holosun? Have that Sig ordered and a similar holo - wondering if the optics ready rail can accommodate without an adapter. Thnx!
Have you accidentally put a hole in something yet?
Vai quebrar o dedo indicador no recuo do ferrolho...
I picked up my 8” Anaconda yesterday. Going to the range tomorrow.
Imagine getting killed by a gun older than your grandfather
That doesn’t look like a 1908
Beautiful gan
Is it a 32 caliber
Love classic style revolvers like this. Great vid
I own one, and I'm looking for correct ammo that won't hurt my grandpa's old gun
The model 49 was first made in 1959.
8 inches barrel?
Love the MK lll model with 6" barrel!!, Very popular in Mexico!!!😊😊❤❤
No….. must save money….. but I want a flashy CZ….. but I must save money🫡😂 Seriously though, where can I get one of these down the road. I love that finish👀
That’s me.white glove treatment
Just got a 14-3 last week
I have one of those here in Mexico and have a commando too and my brother has a colt 1903 Colt Hammerless.
this is 3”
Video sucks
Pinned and recessed best S&W wheel guns made right there no doubt about it and & pick over any of them Colt snake guns but I’m not hating the Colts just liking them Smiths better but on the flip I’m favoring some the earlier production Colt Autos also so it’s al relative.. just gotta do some research but the proof is in the history. Still I like howu got both cuz u like !
Cz 75 sp01 tactical is the best cz 75
White bread try’n to play all hard. 😂
You didn’t show the grip pin being installed.
no grip pin.......those grips are gonna move on you when you shoot......not good.
Wow! That revolver is flawless! I couldn't even detect a turn ring on the cylinder. Thanks for sharing this beauty with us.
Is there a trick to removing the factory black rubber grips the first time? I removed the screw on the bottom but the grips themselves would not budge. Almost like they were glued to the frame or something. Maybe I just didn't use enough force, but I thought it best to stop lest I unintentionally damage something. Thanks!
Any updates? I’m on the same page as u lol
I have the exact same problem. I needed the part that was done prior to this video.
@@obsoletevalues6209 I “FINALLY” got mine off by wedging a small flathead screwdriver(wrapped in a cleaning cloth so I didn’t scratch it)behind the trigger guard and prying it off. Before I discovered that method I was dripping sweat and almost ripped a fingernail off.
I have the all steel model without the keyhole. Mine is stainless, not nearly as shiny as yours. I had a black one but stupidly let it go. I really prefer a mat black finish, less obvious.
Is that the 3 or 2.5" barrel? It looks like the plus deluxe.
LaLonde was my mother's maiden name. And I have a 1950 OP that was a police trade in. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Great revolver. I was always convinced that the S&W1917 was the perfect rough service revolver, but the OP changed my mind on that.
You have excellent taste
Beautiful gun. My goodness. I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight.
Wood is gorgeous however if you shoot Garrett or Underwood or Buffalo Bore that isn't gonna feel good lol😅
Dirty Harry carried a Smith and Wesson model 29 (44 mag)…but close. 😉
i recently found one but in .38 knickle plated at local pawn shop for 300 bucks, after seeing these videos seems like a really good buy.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful yes sir
I have a Anaconda 4in. model and I'm going for the Altamont wood grips for my Anaconda, they supposedly interchange with the Python.
How does it work? I have the 4.25 anaconda aswell and want to put the wood grips on it aswell
@@Mck499I bought the Python 2 1/2" first and a month later I bought the Anaconda 4" and its like getting a Python in 44magnum,same great trigger same lock works same polished finish same great looks my Anaconda was a little cheaper than my Python so if I could only have one it would be the Anaconda although the Python is the one I carry the most. I hope you never have to choose between the Anaconda or Python because that would be a hard choice to make! The next Colt on my horizon is the king Cobra 10 shot 22LR.
@@Mck499If you do put wood grips on your Anaconda don't sell your rubber ones,I too love wood grips and will eventually get some from Altamont but those rubber ones and so comfortable to shoot with.I think they're made by Houge so they are of very good quality.
I have just purchased a 6" a anaconda and considered a wood grip if I could find a shape and finish I like. I'm not a fan of that belled bottom, and I'm not a fan of paying 125 TOPS!!! more like 75.
Altamont has just what you need for your Anaconda, check out their web sight and they are well within in your price range.
❤❤love nickol plate tyler t grip round butt just a aluminum tyler trigger shoe ❤❤
Why not open it won't hurt it I have an unfired m36 perfect condition I open it kinda weird
Sexier than anything made today
Belleza!!😍😍
You scared me when you placed your finger on the trigger while cocking back the hammer.
Go to tactical response and you will learn that you are wrong.
Could be 1902 or 1907 judging from length and slide release
