I have not heard this song since my camp days.
Bit to fast.
This is the MORGENLIED tune.
Hcn is the only reason to get it
I see these Altar Servers are all cross bearers like me
😌 *PromoSM*
This song literally went from a Civil War Battle Song, to a ww2 paratrooper song (with different lyrics, same tune), to a mainstream church song.
Wonderful church!
Looking forward to your continuing as a member and your guest sermons.
Who is the arranger?
Based on an arrangement by Roy Ringwald.
Thank you! We see each other through Jesus!
Friday afternoon 4:45 pm, at the farm. Just wanted to let you know my prayers will always continue for you, Jan and Rachel and the rest of your family, looking forward to you continuing as a member.
My heart is gladdened to hear these updates. Truly, the Word (Jesus) of God continues to share love, faith, hope, comfort & joy to everyone at my beloved Saint Luke. ❤☦️
“Chicklets in church” from “the gum lady” 😊 Wonderful story! Yesterday, I received an email from Dr. Frederick Trost, who was pastor at St. Pauls Church, Fullerton & Orchard, years ago. He & dear wife Louise sent 4 of their 5 children to Saint Luke (then known as The Christian Day School). Although Mrs. Trost directed Sunday School at St. Pauls, whenever any of their children were scheduled to sing in one of our 4 choirs, they were there! All five have gone on to become outstanding leaders, of international repute, faithful to their calling as children of God. I’m always amazed when reminded of what can happen when we let the Holy Spirit into the lives of the children entrusted to our care. Keep on! ❤
I so enjoy these meditations from Saint Luke, & the wonderful memories they bring from my years on staff (1970-79), but even with the volume up to full, or loudest setting, it’s very difficult to hear Pr. Bouman. Is it possible for his microphone to be a bit closer? Blessed Lententide to all ☦️
Thanks! Prayed that with you today. Blessings
Great...love this song.
beautiful
The nostalgia has me close to tears. Who's counting the wrong notes? Splendidly done!
Thanks, really good stuff! Blessings
Thank you, Pr. Bouman, for SINGING with the children!❤ Psalm 104:33
Great comments & you bring back precious memories. The glorious liturgical heritage at Saint Luke firmly rooted my music/worship Ministry over a half century ago. Countless parishes across the land have lost reverence & never experienced worship in the beauty of holiness. Children can & will learn, but as Martin Luther reminded us - every thing we treasure can be lost in a generation. I give thanks to God for Saint Luke ❤ and the blessings that special family of faith has shared.
Very nice! Thx.
Thanks, this helped get my day off to a good start. The teachings of the church are helping save the world. Peace
Warm regards always from your former Cantor ❤ Now I need to check out last Sunday’s service to hear the kazoos! Worship with JOY! 🎶
What a wonderful ministry of love. My years at Saint Luke were 1970-79, and I still recall the big heart the parish had for the comm-unity. ❤
Why is there so much smoke? Is that incense or is it a smoke machine?
The smoke is created by a smoke machine to enhance the symbolism and provide an alternative to those that are sensitive to incense.
@@SaintLukeMinistries I find it funny that only Lutherans are allergic to incense but there are no complaints among the Catholics or the Anglicans, who use it a lot more than us. Probably because it's "too catholic". 😂
I appreciate the sharing of your minister's stories. My encouragement in these times is Psalm 91 as told to me my Pastor Joseph Prince from Singapor. I say it every day.
Christ is risen! Alleluia! Risen our victorious head! Sing his praises! Alleluia! Christ is risen from the dead! Gratefully our hearts adore him as his light once more appears, bowing down in joy before him, rising up from griefs and tears. Refrain: Christ is risen! Alleluia! Risen our victorious head! Sing his praises! Alleluia! Christ is risen from the dead! Christ is risen! All the sadness of our Lenten fast is o’er; through the open gates of gladness he returns to life once more; death and hell before him bending see him rise, the victor now, angels on his steps attending, glory round his wounded brow. [Refrain] Christ is risen! All the sorrow that last evening round him lay now hath found a glorious morrow in the rising of today. See the grave its first-fruits giving, springing up from holy ground; Christ was dead, but now is living; he was lost, but he is found. [Refrain] Christ is risen! Henceforth never death or hell shall us enthrall. We are Christ’s, in him forever we have triumphed over all. All the doubting and dejection of our trembling hearts have ceased; hail the day of resurrection! Let us rise and keep the feast. [Refrain]
Wonderful service pastor nelson..
I've seen the Retable d'Issenheim (Alsace). Very powerful.
Do you still extinguish the “Judas Light” (votive candle on the East wall)? It was always a meaningful & poignant moment each Maundy Thursday Eucharist when I was on staff during the 1970’s.
Yes!
Thank you for today's meditation. It reminded me of my father's immigration in 1925. He too settled first near Red Wing, MN, working as a blacksmith. I remember when the current church was built. I always marveled how the artwork, windows, etc. tell various stories from the Bible. I viewed this year's Children's Christmas service and remembered the times that I participated in it long ago. (I graduated from St. Luke in 1957.) May the Lord continue to bless you in your ministry. May St. Luke continue to share the Gospel in the Lakeview community and beyond.
Thank you ! Wonderful Service. Fantastic music
What a wonderful outreach ministry - thank you, Paul and Barb!
Is this just me or do others have a hard time hearing this
Should have sung; I'm leaving on a jet plane don't know when I'll be back again.
When I was on staff (organist & teacher), we had tremendous involvement in history, among other curricular areas, & Saint Luke was blessed with many outstanding student participants. It does my heart ❤️ good - or great! - to see that tradition continues. Congrats to all, and may God bless your efforts.
Thank you for posting these very moving to watch the church I confirmed at so many years ago.1979.Watching from Corpus Christi Texas
