77. Trash House. Mosaic tile door art, removing Bamboo from tire, moving into a trash house
I bought my land in May of 2022 because buying an actual house felt impossible. I was inspired by my old boss, and now friend Doug. I was documenting his day-to-day as he build this amazing house in Sunrise Beach Village, TX. I put an offer on a piece of land in Spring Branch, Texas. I literally did zero research. I pretty much bought the first piece of land I found. I'm documenting the process for my mom.
I'm passionate about cleaning up the environment and doing my part to respect nature. I thought building.a house from recyclables and garbage, would be a fun experience. And just like that, I bought a hammer, and one of those saw thing-a-ma-jiggers.
My experience is limited to building basic sets for Actors in Los Angeles. This is my first time building anything that needs to survive an alien invasion. My only goal is to live inside my house before my dog dies. She's almost 15. I got her when she was nearly 10 weeks.

My property is only 10,000sqft or so. I'm definitely selling and going bigger at some point. There's nothing more satisfying than building a home, and sleeping in it. Make sure you buy in an area without a home owners or property owners association.

What kind of tiles are those? did you file the edges round or something? Or did you buy special mosaic tiles? if so that's kind of lame bro. Get yourself a Grammarly account, or at least spell-check your comments. Calling me dumb would be funnier if your comments were at least grammatically correct. I assume you're a grown man? You should know where commas go, when to use an apostrophe, and when and when not. These simple things might help people appreciate your humor. Personally, I don't think it will help.

Get a proper trowel or do it with your hands dude I can't believe you are using a plastic spoon to smear lime on the walls.(But don't do it like at 4:04, you aren't patting your mate but. Do it as if you were applying sunscreen on a huuge ladys back. Take a handfull and smear it right to left in one uniform motion, flatening your hand as you go) Also lime works better if you give it a long time to hidrate, like a day, or a week even. Just make sure the lime mix in the bucket is completely covered by a layer of water. If you want a smooth finish on the second layer you can go over it with a sponge and water after letting it dry for around 15min to 1h, depending on how thick you put it on. I hope this helps even thoug I know it won't. See the look on that buddas face? Pure disapointment. Thats the exact same face im making right now. To end on a positive note I think it will end up looking pretty good. If I hadn't seen the whole building process I could be tricked into thinking you're a skilled dude that built a cool house. I also like that you are planting plants, you gained many points for that.

Sorry for being late. I bet you missed me. Dude it's crazy how long it takes you to slap each individual handfull of mud on the wall, no wonder it's taking you years to build this freaking anthill hut. And i'd add another 2 years if you plan on going over the whole thing at that speed with that tiny brush 2:46. On a positive note you can avoid what happened at 4:34 by using some sort of mesh or nailing a bunch of rope or whatever to the wood befor you throw mud on it.

Yea soak them in water, for exactly 22.5hours, air dry them for 2, take a sander and sand off exactly 2mm, let them dry for another hour, them clamp them to a existing board, preferably one that's already straight, and lastly throw it in a fire and buy new ones, since you can so "easily"...

people have bent wood for furniture by boiling water and soaking it. you probably could correct the shape but structural its sound you just have to nail it.
