I've always struggled to find the beat in salsa. The other songs I was finding the beat easily. This song seems more typical of songs I lose the beat to. What's the easiest instrument to focus on to pick out the beat in a song like this?

Why are you moving your hip the opposite direction of of the leg? Mostly I have seen dancers doing it in the same direction of the leg? Are you dancing with a different style?

I dance on1 trying to learn on2. This is the first video that I’ve seen that breaks down the basic step for both followers and leaders, most videos I’ve seen just show the basic step or shines for followers, which makes it hard to learn if your a leader.

i was 33 years, 3 months, and 1 day old when i learned how to move my butt. i've seen people move like this when dancing for years. over a decade. and i just... couldn't figure it out. i thought i maybe just couldn't physically do it because i am a skinny man with no hips. i knew that a weight change and knees were involved but i just never, ever understood that the trick was having weight on the leg with the bent knee. it's kinda hard to explain how weird/surreal this very insignificant moment is, but... thanks!
