Car Therapy is a show about everything cars. I will review them, talk about them, race them, interview them, work on them, and of course, drive them. Cars are a special part of life and everyone has a different affinity for them. Car Therapy investigates each of those affinities, and may even teach you a thing or two along the way.
About me:
For me cars are my therapy. They get me excited, they calm me down, and they're my escape from everyday life. My car life is unique and the point of all cars is to share them, and that's what I intend to do. I am a car enthusiast. I love learning everything about cars and I respect all cars and all tastes. I will take you along my journey of trying to become a racing driver, give you a taste of projects i'm working on, and review some of my favorite cars. This channel is everything cars, plain and simple.

Best Thing From Harbor Freight - Creeper Stool
Just a quick video of something that I absolutely love and I think is more valuable than it costs. A good seat when you're working is very important. this seat is quality and better than several others I've had, and it is $20!

2012 Porsche Cayman R: What I Dislike
มุมมอง 2.1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I felt that this was a video I needed to make as there are things that are nitpicky about the Cayman R and why I think this car is not as sought after as the GT4. These are by no means a deal breaker and should not deter anyone from buying this car (other than the carbon backed sport bucket seats because they are restrictive and not comfortable for long drives, I would suggest getting the stand...
F30 2015 BMW 328Xi Rear brake replacement - Fix Squeal

This is the second part of my brake replacement for the F30 BMW. In the previous video I replaced the front pads and rotors. In this video I replace the rear pads and rotors. This did work to fix my squeal, I hope it helps you fix yours! All my parts were bought from Rock Auto. Because I have the M Sport Brakes, the rear rotors and pads were found under the 335 with M sport brakes. I couldn't f...
Sliplo Universal Bumper Skid Plate and Scrape Guard Protection Installation
มุมมอง 1.9K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I recently installed the Sliplo Bumper Skid Guard Protection to my 2020 bmw 330XI, and it brings a lot of peace of mind. My friend just bought his first new car a 2020 Dodge Charger Scat Pack, and he was already having a hard time getting used to the low front bumper. So, we got some Sliplo and installed it in about 35 minutes. It looks great and will keep his bumper safe from more Scrapes! Enj...

2015 F30 BMW 328XI Front Brade Pads and Rotors Replacement, Fixing Squeaky Brakes!
มุมมอง 1274 ปีที่แล้ว
In the video I replace the front pads and rotors on my 3 series. This is an unsuccessful attempt to fix a brake squeal I have, but I only changed the fronts. The squeal is significantly reduced, but I will be doing a video replacing the rear pads and rotors, which I have a hunch will fix the squeal. All the brake parts were bought from RockAuto.com. I highly suggest them, they have good OEM and...

Great work/vid, thanks inspired me to do my flat black cooper s rust spots 👌
Should last a few years at least.
I will apparently be doing this...Excellent! These little cars are so rad.
Certainly bolt-cutters are wrong. I use large electrician's cable cutter---the bypass kind.
I was thinking about doing it the same way you did... I like the stock cable loop better the way it crosses the drive shaft than running the new cables up the way most videos show... I refused to buy the $160 wilwood emergency brake kit so found the exact same thing on Amazon for $50.. I needed the clevis and cable mount to the wilwood brakes but that was it. Job well done and simple to....
Thanks for the video, going to tackle this with my car.....
I am using Ford Explorer parking cable (2) D/Side & shorten middle cable this looks just like Explorer brake setup. Doing this on a 64 Chevelle wagon.
i have explorer rear end in my 61 chrysler, but cant get them to grab with the new kit. any pointers? simple lever cable set up and i cant imagine what i am doing wrong
@@whatsyoursguy Try to adjust parking shoes with a slight drag. I had the same thing with my parking brake. Good luck & let me know how you made out.
@@l.munnier9658 thank you. i did that originally with no luck. i unhook the main cable from the 2 that go to the brakes, and i have plenty of pedal and cable travel. hook them up, and pedal will barely move yet no brakes at all. i must be losing my mind!!! hahaahaha
On the ford R/S cable loops to L/side and then to E -brake cable. On my need a lot of pressure to engage park brake. If works better let know thanks Lou. Good luck.
Thanks for the video! I'm going to do this with mine
This was so helpful, thanks!
Where did you buy or whats the number part where the too cables Atache together?
How is the reliability? Do you still own your R?
Reliable was good, the only thing that had to be replaced while i owned the car was the clutch sensor went bad, very easy and cheap fix, but annoying because sometimes the car wouldnt want to start. The dealer said it was not common. i did sell it in February because i wasnt driving it as much as i should have.
@@bbening3739 Thanks. I'm pretty sure I bought your car haha.
@@Smurugby12 no way! I sold it to a dealer.

Hi! You did a wonderful job! Can you send me a list of everything you bought? Im about to do this to mine!
Did he respond ? I’d also love a list of products used lol
You can give me your number :))
Did the problem came back after a while...?
Mine did not, however i did end up trading this car in a few months after this video, so i cant tell you for sure.
I drove my 2011 S from San Diego to Pennsylvania. I took three days. Non. Stop. Driving. It was miserable by the end of the first day. Weirdly enough, by the second day, my body must have formed to the seat, because the rest of the trip was pleasant.
Caution, the gap disc is probably not accurate. I used my Mitutoyo micrometer and found that the disc is .0355 at the .032 mark. It is .032 at the .028 mark on the disc. I'm guessing these are stamped pieces accounting for variance.
Thank you for sharing, I bought the Wilwood universal cable parking brake kit also!
Great video
Terrible blending
No air conditioning. Fail.
No, this isn’t true. I’ve got ac in mine
How’s it feel to have no air conditioning in this car?
I have found with mine you really need the PSE for the noise. Those are Spyder wheels too, not Carrera.
Thanks, bought a 328i a month ago.
5 Stars !!!! Didn't know the Dremmil was so powerful !!!! Thank you , John
Think you bought the wrong car old son
Cayman R is set up for track performance and not set up or a comfortable ride to take on a long trip or as a daily driver. It’s about the handling and feeling the road.
"What I dislike about this car is what I said in my previous video was what I liked about this car"....WHAT??? I think there are many things that I dislike about this video!!!
Nice video is there two break wires sensors or just one thanks
There are two on the car, but only one on the rear. The driver's side front brake has one and the passenger rear has one.
Car Therapy So there’s one in the front and one in the rear I need to know I’m doing my stepdaughter’s car thanks
@@158mollie Yep you got it, I have a video on doing the fronts if you're interested. Good luck!
Option 1: the sport bucket cushions are velcro'd in, so you can add minor amounts of cushioning behind them to add lumbar. Option 2: you can get aftermarket seat mounts and tilt your seat backwards a bit.
Thanks for sharing boss. Well explained ☺️
Really really helpful tutorial in details. Thanks. I just did mine today. But couldn’t finish the 4th plug because of longer extension. Left that for next day plugged with coil connected . Will there be problem if I drive?
The 987 Cayman R is truly the first Cayman GTS and less comparable with the GT4. I do think Cayman's are absolutely "future classics". The fact of fairly limited sales despite all of the great engineering features and outstanding car dynamics may make Caymans very desirable and appreciating cars! (.....I wonder how people in 10 years will feel when they recognize how much joy was lost by giving up the driving experience and engagement of ICE cars and now being doomed to sit in universal self driving batteries only serving transportation needs, robbing us from so many things that cars initially represented in the ICE age...)
That's a really interesting perspective on the GTS comparison, I have to agree. The GT4 is just a completely different animal. And i totally agree on the lost joy in the driving experience. It makes me sad, and makes cars like these so much more special.
@@bbening3739 Thanks. let's hope that there will be always a lot of Petrolheads around who will remain to keep the spirit alive and ongoing...
I think the standard seats don't set the car apart enough from the S, coupled with the aftermarket values hold more favourably the bucket seats. I only drive at the weekend and was hoping that the R with buckets will give me a special and engaging feeling. The longest would likely be approx 100 miles each way, with half a day not driving in between, so is the issue the length of journey or the frequency of journeys, or both? Perhaps a seat bolster/cushion might help me? The comment on Alcantera would apply to any manufacturer of Alcantera steering wheels, so I wouldn't say that is unique to the R as many come with the leather wheel optioned. The long gear ratios are an issue for every Porsche, it is a shame. But at least with a manual one gets some engagement out of it. The ride quality must be better than old classic air cooled surely? what are you comparing the ride quality to out of curiosity? Please advise.
I tend to agree that the carbon sport seats look great and definitely make it feel like a more special car. I do love the look of them, they do offer great support if you're on the track, and the driving position feels like you are in a race car. MY problem with the seats is more with the duration of the journey; I have driven the car numerous times about 2-2.5 hours and my back is usually strained when I get out of the car (it's a racing seat, essentially, so lumbar support is minimal). This in no way deters me from driving the car because it is still such a fun car to experience, but my preference is not to take the car on drives longer than 3-ish hours because I'll need a good stretch when I get out. I have never driven the old classic air cooled cars (but I want to!). I compare it to newer sports cars and caymans (mind you I have not been in a GT4). The ride quality is by no means terrible, but it is no grand touring car. There's a reason that Porsche designed the car so that you feel the road. Like you said, this car is special and engaging, but it is by no means a perfect all around car. These were definitely picky things I could think of and I just wanted to share it's small flaws. I know that Alcantara will wear out no matter what the car, and I agree the manual is engaging even when the long ratios aren't. Do NOT let these small things deter you from buying a Cayman R. They are special cars.
Great job dude:)
Thank you for sharing your oil change adventure on a 2015 328i, I have a 2015 328i GT with 57k miles in need of an oil change and wanted to see hope difficult (or easy) the process is before deciding to do it myself or taking it to a shop. I watched another BMW oil change video for a 2014 X5 before finding this video and the guy changed the oil filter first before emptying the oil, it seemed to make less of a mess at the filter, but his made a bigger splash mess removing the drain plug. Anyone doing this may want to do the filter first but either way be ready for a potential mess.
Thanks for kind words. It is definitely a simple job and if you take your time it can be pretty clean, but I agree that you should be ready for a little mess. Good Luck!
