    So basically, setting an altitude number in the autopilot is meaningless - you just have to use the v-speed up or down and then manually tell it to hold at whatever altitude you want to hold at, which pays no attention to the number in the altitude setting.

    • @IFRSKIES
      @IFRSKIES 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This could just be a bug that needs to be fixed. It really should hold the set altitude once it reaches the setting if the autopilot is on. Maybe the V-speed is not shutting off like it should when the altitude is reached.

I have MSFS primarily to fly the classic DC-3 (and DC-6) I don't like the "push button and fly planes" that much and besides that, they don't have have that awesome piston sound - but hey, everyone has their own preference ;) But after a while, especially on the long hauls and be able to do some site seeing, it comes in pretty handy to have the choice to fly the DC-3 using GPS and AP. Although I have played with it for some days now it didn't work out that well for me, but after "studying" your video I'm able to enjoy the scenery a lot more, and do some monster flights without spending hours to write it all down on paper planning a flight (still great fun to fly "old school" though). Thanks for your comments. I like having the heads up (HUD) exterior display on which can be done in Options Assistance. That way I can enjoy some scenery an monitor the flight instruments while outside the aircraft. Enjoy flying the friendly sky's in MSFS.

    I love how you kept fiddling with the KAP 140 exactly what I was doing, it's not arming the ALT. Weird AP behaviour it would sometime trim you all the way up and stall you. It's not your speed, it's just bugged.

    Just did a flight from Titusville to Tally on FS2020, messed around with ILS function, worked well - but I was guessing what to press. This vid is helpful. Thanks!

      Thanks for the comment. One of my favorite things about MSFS is how well it does real time real weather conditions. Enjoy.

    Approach mode wouldn’t turn on for me. I had a flight plan in the nav and auto pilot was on. Could this because my nav frequency wasn’t set?

      If your altitude is too high, you will fly above the GS and approach mode will not be intercepted. If you do not have the correct frequency set for the runway the approach mode will not work.
