I benefited a great deal from the AVR ImpaCt, the first commercially available hearing aid that provided this functionality. I have a ski slope hearing loss and couldn’t hear sounds higher than 1000 Hz. The ImpaCt let me hear sounds I had never heard before, like seat belt alarms, smoke alarms, and s and sh. It helped improve my speech discrimination quite a bit. Unfortunately the company went out of business. Although Phonak provides this feature, it doesn’t seem adequately publicized or understood. I wish more information was available about it publicly.

I have the phonak virto m50 and my call ringtone changed to ring tones 2 low frequency. It used to be ring tones 1 mid frequency. I haven't done anything and it changed, I prefer ring tones 1 mid frequency.
One sided open style Ric might be the only choice that I will have and that’s if I’m lucky.

Thanks for the visual demo. What is the width (at widest point) of the small and medium vented dome? I'm sure I have one of those (definitely not large). Mine are 7mm. The opening is smaller, but I can't measure that as easily.

Thank you for watching. First of all, it is difficult to say which hearing aid is suitable based on this information alone. Hearing aids should be selected considering not only audiogram but also user’s overall environment. The general answers to your questions are as follows. There are 5 companies that are considered the top manufacturers in the hearing industry. - Sonova(Phonak, Unitron..), WSAudiology(Widex, Signia..), Demant(Oticon, Bernafon..), GN(ReSound, Beltone..), Starkey(Starkey, Audibel..) The companies use different algorithms to process sound and have different accessories. Some may work for you better than others. Therefore, It is important to go to an audiologist who works with different hearing aid manufacturers and not just one brand. And.. Before buying hearing aids, it is recommended to try on a trial hearing aid. Both RIC and BTE can be used, but I would recommend RIC hearing aids first. This is because RIC can cover various types of hearing loss due to the flexibility of fitting. Thanks again!

Hello . Is this worth it to upgrade from phonak audeo BR-50?
On the hardware side, Audeo B and Audeo M differ in compatible receivers, domes, etc. (SDS 4.0). Therefore, it is possible to wear a hearing aid that is more suitable for individual hearing. And with SWORD 3.0 chipset, you can also use Bluetooth functions such as Handsfree and Streaming. In my opinion, it's well worth the upgrade from Audeo BR to Audeo MR(or Audeo PR).

This looks good on paper but does not work well in practice.The connection GH it's on when I adjust my glasses touch my temple or put on a mask. It doesn't go on with a double tap u less I try it several times.
I also agree. When wearing a face mask, the double tap is undesirably activated. The tap contorl function is an additional function of motion sensor hearing. If tap control is uncomfortable, you can change the options in myPhonak app.

Naaz Shaikh It depends on ear canal, but usually Audeo Marvel is not suitable for severe hearing loss. If you want to use Audeo Marvel, you need to use the UP receiver.
