Spring Seeding No-Till Alfalfa W/ Oats
มุมมอง 2.6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Come join me today as I use a Landoll drill and a Challenger tractor to seed an alfalfa/orchardgrass mix with oats as a nourishment crop for spring seeding. I am no rookie when it comes to operating a drill, but I am new at drilling alfalfa. What makes this video more entertaining than the rest? It's the expensive mistake I make towards the end of the video. I hope you enjoy!
Thank You
Good job Adam, we’re soo proud of you
any chance of selling? :P
keşke türkiyeye gelse.hemen alırdım😅
you still like this?
We have had that exact machine on our ranch for 20 years. Helpful hints: Do not let any grease accumulate anyplace on the machine. Pressure wash at least twice a year. We have had good luck with WD-40 special formula for chain, won’t drip all over. all guard’s in place, if any are missing get them . Pay very close attention to exhaust system, must keep totally sealed, not one pinhole. The straw you kicked out of the way can get blown up under machine. Seriously go buy TWO good size fire extinguisher and mount on each side outside. Better to bale out than be trying to unsnap extinguisher while your neck is burning.
I ran one of those self propelled New Holland's one year in Washington State. I have no idea how many I stacked, but it was a sweet machine!
Got no how use basket rake just take Conner rake flip over
Lot ease to handle 35 pound bales what we bale easy on us handleing
We found that the 35lb bales are too light and break easily with the bale wagons. What are you using to pick bales up with? Yes I agree, a 35lb bale is easier to handle.
Too many bales for the tonnage with lighter weight bales. I say my 1089 works best with heavier verses lighter weight bales also. Also agree consistent length is less agitation.
Hello. I enjoyed watching your video alot. I am a new subscriber. I live on a farm by Reward Saskatchewan Canada. How many tractors do you have on your Family Farm and what kind are they if I may ask you
We currently have 11 tractors excluding the sprayer and combines. We have almost every color from new Holland, John Deere, case IH, and Agco’s Challenger.
Glad to see your update, and it made a nice stack. I hope your customers like your straw!
They did, didn’t bale enough. Lol
The new stacker does make nice straight sides!!
How did you finally make out with replanting your fields?
Real Satisfied
You should be stacking the straw by hand like a real man.
Then the Prairie hay and alfalfa in between! And when you got done for the summer you had brand new designer jeans that you could wear to school holes already built in them!
That was painful
Is that as shallow as you can go? Can you make the alfalfa drop into the slice from the drill? Or does it just drop and scatter? I would be concerned not all the alfalfa would germinate. Land rolling the stand after drilling would be a great idea.
Lol guy on the chainsaw needs a lesson on how to run a saw
I bet when that rock hit the window it scared the crap out of you
Nah, I definitely didn’t jump. Lol
You cant tell what you are filming half the time because its too high
I did say at the end I did a bad job. It was my first time using this camera.
“Looking like a ball came down the creek, let’s go smash it!!....... welp looks like the ball isn’t going to smash 😂😂.
What book were you reading?
