4- As Special Purpose Vehicle to hold particular investments on behalf of their owners. Predominantly land and buildings to rent out or develop.
5-To protect assets. Frequently companies are established within a group structure to hold tangible and intangible assets. The purpose of this is to ensure that a company doesn’t lose valuable assets if it runs into difficulty because the assets with which it trades belong to another group company that is not trading. Assets can be tangible or intangible. Tangible assets include land and buildings and equipment. Intangible assets include copyright, know-how, patents, domain names, the SEO value of websites and trademarks.
