    Good luck this is very difficult but worthwhile area of study just remember George Box saying "All models are wrong, but some are useful" so make yours useful and you will achieve a good measure of accuracy - trying to make it perfect and you go down into a rabbit hole and never leave.

    Thank you for uploading the video. It gives many insights into the use of phase field models in understanding structural integrity. I was especially interested in the use of gnd density. I was wondering if hrebsd was used to map the gnd density in the model. As this is physics based model, it seems that there is no model calibration need. But how is the gnd density evolution tracked.

We use strain gradient plasticity to incorporate the role of the GND density in a phenomenological way.
