The title says it all. Rebels at heart, love riding, mechanical knowledge, and too many other interests to list.

NEW HAWK 250 description So here we are, reviving my hawk, bringing it back from the dead. It was ridden over 8,000 miles, rode hard and put away wet before being parked and forgotten about for 7 moths. Now new life is being breathed back into the hawk 250, it needed so much work, I decided to buy another hawk 250 for parts! (Don’t worry the parts bike was too rough to put back together) The pa...

Rode like hell without breaking in too probably.
I've got asv, has them for a few years zero problems and super smooth
That throttle cable is an easy fix if removed and if You are good with lead you can fix it with a torch.
nice vids
Great video! Thanks! By chance would you know what size one needs for the rubber thingy from the brake fluid resevoir?
2019 Odyssey- I Ran out of gas in the middle of the road, car would not start dead. If you cant start you can't put it in neutral, the car has to be running. So you cant roll it off the road. What good is neutral?
Had the same problem with mine where the outside of the bearing got stuck in the wheel hub. Such a pain
When i got my DLX 250 (229cc) I compared it to my 2014 RMZ 250 My RMZ makes 42 hp and 24 ft pound torque The hawk DLX 250 stock was more like a yz 125 4 stroke, topped out at 70MPH I got new carb and installed 145 main and 40 pilot jets on the carb. FMF 4.1 Exhaust, new sprocket for an extra 12MPH Overall for it's price, it's worth it, and after I modded it, it's now like a 250cc MOTOCROSS bike (performance wise) also get kenda or pirelie scorpion racing tires if you want extra grip offroad.
The best advice I will give you for getting a Hawk. 250 minus a 2015 very first year and model is number one I put a casole high performance Ignition system in it. Ignition box got rid of the original car braider and put a nibby high performance racing car braider, jetted and then custom adjusted it by watching the exhaust at night. And tuning it to where the exhaust didn't glow under 2000 RPM. Then I just put it on full choke. There is no half choke on a nibby carb. Raider hit the key. She fires right up and I've had this. Good luck with this bike with this car braider. And that Ignition system that I put on it in weather that was 4°. And by the way, with the high performance Ignition system, there is no revelum. Or she'll rev to whatever you want to put her at. Woke the bike up big time.My next step is I'm going to put a big bore.Kid in it and wake it up To approximately three hundred c c then then she'll go even faster than she already does
Mine actually runs really good with the original carburetor, it’s just a matter of jetting it correctly.
U been saving since I got this hawk 😂 thx man
How did you get injector out of engine
Keep it as a parts bike and get another!
That was a good instruction.
Your chain is to tight
saw your video and did all of that ,however, the dash still feels like its still bolted somewhere. went back and washed your video again and no different result. am I missing something?
Is yours an 03-04.5?
@@goodolboys713 found it.
When I was a kid I glued fins straight to the D-12 engine and glued a nose cone to the top. Sucker flew! And a nice pop at the end
F all that. Throw some seafoam in there
I have a 2017 Sierra 5.3 doesn’t burn oil but I do have a catch can on it and around 5k which is when I change the oil it has about a half quart in the can itself. The engines are built to have some blow by. Probably that mixed with leaks is the culprit. This generation is known to build major carbon on valves due to this and the fact that they are direct injection.
Also right @ 82k on it
I really want my Hawk to last as long as possible. I appreciate how you've documented literally everything about your bike, and the work that needs done on it. I'm gonna start taking mine to work and need it to be reliable enough for a 30 mile round trip. Stuff Done: rotella oil, front brake fluid change (still need to change the rear), ngk plug, tightened spokes, trued the wheel (as best as possible w/o stand), chain and sprockets. psi check freq. Anything else I need to look out for? Im afraid of getting standed especially if im going into work. Ive had a couple flat tires due to spokes breaking/being loose. Thanks again for the vids!
God this is amazing. I have a 442 case that runs but needs some work done to it. It was my great uncle’s he bought it at an auction down in Tennessee. He passed away years ago but it has all the accessories and the owners manual too. It’s amazing seeing a old case actually being used so thank you
Thanks u so much!
I luv a good 'work around' on old crap.👍👍

I run 40 psi no need for rim lock .. on road only
My hawk is no longer a $1,200,, i paid $2,000 for the dlx.. bike..it is a work of art that i wouldnt sale for $4,000.. SO THESE helpful videos are awesome.. keep the coolness up my man
Why you so cool
Ive had horrible death wobble on a daily basis, to the point of just wanting to buy a new car, till today because of this video. I have a 6.5" long arm installed and I did it the opposite way. I disconnected the long arm from the trans mount and extended it about an inch. Been driving it around trying to give myself wobble and so far so good. Thanks for tip!
Size matters, keep the Yanmar
Hey hey!! That’s a great time!! You know how to get it done man!
is there an updated ebay link for these? i'm assuming the 14-18 long tube headers for 25-350 are the ones? I'd def do a header wrap, and maybe some high temp paint to protect from rusting.. is the tube thickness thin or comparable to a $2k set of headers?
Hell of a video! But man I had a huge question on the hawk 250 and it's ground locations from the brain and ignition coil area.
Stay safee!
I have debated on making some more hawk videos but the numbers are dropping, so I haven’t made too many lately
Thanks for the info bro
Heck yeah!!
Just ordered one! My first oil lantern.😊
Did you end up selling them which one did you keep? Personally I love kubota but since a lot of other people do I bet you’d get more money for that one than the yanmar so I would sell kubota and case , find a nice tiller for the yanmar and call it a day that things a beast
Painfully long video for the inevitable conclusion. Here is the fix the knocking. Throw that carburator away and get a nibby 28 or 30mm which will have proper jets out of the box or another "new" PZ30 that doesn't have internal clogging issues. A 35 pilot jet and a 120 main jet will work just fine with 2 turns out from closed (about 50% open) on the fuel mixture screw. What seems to be happening is the CDI thinks it's lean (most likely on the pilot circuit), however it's unable to set the correct ignition frequency or spark characteristics to correct it. As such you're getting multiple detonations during combustion. This causes the whole sawing machine-like rattle. Running the engine this way can lead to issues (mechanical failures) down the road.
What a painfully long comment with no useful information. What book did you read all of that out of?
@@goodolboys713 Was dealing with the same issue on my bike just now and that's how I resolved it.
according to Matt Easton @scholagladiatoria full width tangs are possibly stronger than they ever need to be
What do you use if you don't have a parts washer? I was just spraying parts cleaner as best I can inside there
This is the perfect video I needed for my 1500 deal left front axle. I tried to buy parts from Hoye, but they didn't have everything. Your measurements helped tremendously
Did you Gap the New spark plug?
I used to make and assemble these lash adjusters when I worked at Eaton Corp back in the mid/late 1990s. Seeing these parts brings back so many memories.
Beautiful! Best present ever!!
where'd you order this stuff thru? kubota itself?
im supried bro hasnt completely lost it
❤wow soooo cool!!!!!
Wow 🤩!! So cool!!!

Man I bought a torque wrench and mine only goes to 20. I can’t get away with only tightening them to 20 ft pounds can I? Edit: there is an parts store in my town so I can’t just go get one

Nice work and video.
