Here in the United States, the walk signal (as it's called in American English) is typically short-only about seven seconds-and a 14-second countdown signal would be considered close to average. In most videos I've seen of British countdown pedestrian signals, it's the countdown that's usually short, not the green man.

This was previously a pelican crossing, now its a pedex. Why do they change pelicans to pedex or puffins nowadays?
Because lots people get confused by the flashing Green man on pelican crossings so they began converting pelican crossings into Puffins or pedexs.
@Billy-h8t that is a bad reason for the council or whoever to change it, they clearly put the rules of the red and green man on the light buttons, even the flashing green man on the buttons when people press the button they need to just look at that
