Do you thinknit could be upgrades with dt swirss shaft bearing and frequency body only leaving formula carcass?
If the donor hub spindle is the same length and the outside diameter of the donor hub bearings are the same it might be worth a try
Very nice
Remember Formula make these hubs for Cannondale wheels, and its hard to find documentation about their maintenance. Thank you man.
Hi, the pegs are off a Suzuki 650 Bandit although I may try and use SV650S pegs if I do another build
I could not hear where the pegs come from! Can you write it in the answer? Thanks.
Great video, man ! Helped me solve my issue.
Your Bike Looks realy nice. Well done and thank you for this Video 😊.
thanks man! really useful!
I was hoping for a strip down rather than a cosmetic tart up.
As far as I can tell the damper unit isn’t serviceable and no spare parts are available.
Helped me so much!
You can use T60 Torx if you dont have 11mm alen.
Excellent; thank you for your consideration in sharing the knowhow
great video and yep whyte hub overhaul is scarce on the internet. A little frustrating that the bearings 5:51sec are marked on the SKF packet but you covered it with the bearing itself. Only 1355 2RS1 bearings in their website!! at a guess I would think they were 61802-2RS1 or 61801-2RS1
Hi what Size was the bearings in the free hub. I have a Whyte 901 and wanting to replace them as there coming up to 8 year's old now.
Hi, I am afraid I don’t know the size. I took one of the bearings that came out to a local bearing company and they handed me two new ones. I discovered it was the ones in my freehub body that were rough; the ones in the hub were fine.
I've a 901 ! Did you ever find out tye bearing size ? Also did it strip just like in this video ?
Cheers pal that really saved me a lot of hassle
*Promosm* ❗
If the vehicle meets the criteria when you get your road tax reminder, your Post Office branch should process your paperwork as per the video; they should also have blank a V112 form for you to complete (goods vehicles use form V112G). I am not sure if all Post Office branches deal with vehicle tax; ours certainly does. I am also not sure how you would carry out the process online. I made the video after struggling to find out what to do myself.
Thank you. Are you saying you have to physically visit a post office to renew the tax every year (I thought maybe this part was online?) And the problem I have is that my vehicle is currently taxed and in daily use, and I wish to change its status to historic now but my 3 local post Offices refuse/seem incapable to do anything - seem almost oblivious to this procedure!
👍
DUDE THANK YOU!!! So helpful to get a clear video like this
Glad it helped!
Hi Brian, thanks for the video! I can see that the freehub uses 6902RS bearings, are the same bearings used in the hub itself? Thanks for agreat video 🙂
Thank you! So hard to find resources on servicing formula hubs! Really appreciate the resource you've made.
Hi, re’ the hub brand; I had a look around the internet at the time. I think it may have been a link via Singletrackworld that led me to find out the hubs were rebranded Formula items.
Good video. Out of interest (and I want to know as I have Whyte branded hubs on my Wessex) how do you know they are Formula Hubs? I can't find anything that tells me that for my bike
Anyone know where to find a formula FH - 502 hub?
Thanks for this - do you have to remove the cassette too in order to do this?
Hi, the cassette will have to come off using the proper tool and some way of stopping the cassette turning, normally a chain wrench. If you don’t have these, you can tap the lock ring off with a flat screwdriver and a hammer. You will still have to grip the cassette. Best of luck.
The original looks way much better!
I used this to help me service and replace components in a Whyte hub while at work. I now use it to calm myself down. Your voice is awesome! Proper ASMR stuff! So, if you ever get bored, feel free to read books on camera! 😊
Hi, thanks very much. Glad the vid’ was useful. My voice seems to wind my wife up!
standard bike is nice
LEGEND! just the video I was looking for. Cheers to the Scotsman, from a kiwi on the opposite side if the world!
Ha! You are very welcome. Hands across the ocean, and all that. Keep riding, stay safe
Absolutely loved this video Your explanation of what to do and what you were doing next was incredibly precise I would like to of seen you stripping down and reassembling the hub fully with all the troubleshooting you may of came across I know it would have been a longer video however I prefer to watch in-depth videos gives me a better understanding of the whole process a great video nonetheless and I've still walked away with knowledge on how to strip a whyte freehub I just recently brought the new 2023 whyte T140RS so this is handy to know for future reference A new subscriber I am Thanks for the video
Very thorough video! I have a downhill version of this hub, Formula DHL-150. Still struggling to take it apart, manged the place where the wrench goes. Will keep trying.
🔥👍
Nice bike 👍
The mirror bosses have been removed from the levers and yellow three ply film was added to the headlight lens.
