@@MonumentHeatandAirLLC thank you ✊🏽
I can see the appeal for these but it's not for me I only just started looking into the multitool world myself not even a month ago. I decided that if I buy a leatherman it'll end up being the curl now if only they'd sell it in black.
@@Rezigunn mannnnn! Haha that was my big thing at first! I wanted it in black. I don’t know how true it is but I heard maxlvledc say that the black oxide finish makes the steel weaker. At that point I just ordered it in stainless steel
@NotYourGrandpasEDC well it's not like I'm hard on any of my tools only one I've ever broken was an adapter for my wrench but I knew it was a possibility since it wasn't meant for high torque and I didn't have anything else on me at the time
@@Rezigunn I just went to Leatherman‘s website to see if you could customize order it in black and no luck. Hopefully they listen to their customers on this one.

Walmart online now has both a green and black handled versions now available. Orange handles are listed as “out of stock”.
@@EricSilbiger I’ll have to check those out! I didn’t realize they had them in those colors. Thank you
Great video man. Wish I had the money to get all these thing back when I was in collage working as a delivery/catering driver. Had to constantly using sharpies on things, breaking carboard boxes, fixing itty bitty things. Tools were limited and everything was broken and we had to improvise all the time haha. Specially in winter, the cargo elevator would bug up in the morning due to cold weather. We had to use knife or thin metal stuff to sorta jam the control panel for it to work. I'd def buy that cheap multi-tool just for my work.

@ you’re welcome and will do✊🏽
The pen in the beginning is the Zebra F-701. Around a 7 dollar steel pen, I carry two of these everyday and they are my favorite EDC pen, I get a bunch of good comments about them when I hand it to people to use.
@ just looked at it again and it says f402. Are they the same that you know?
That Stanley screwdriver looks nice. Might have to pick one up for the house kitchen drawer.
@@ItsMeEbby at $3 you can’t go wrong ✊🏽
This is what I like about this series, making do with what ya can on a budget. I think we sometimes forget not everyone has a bigger budget or the places that carry this gear. I live in a very small town and if you can't get it at a very small Wal-Mart or a mom and pop hardware store, you'll either travel or get it online. Ya done good, considering the budget and what the store had to offer, solid B+. I'm just a diehard on that Milwaukee Fastback utility knife with a screwdriver. A knife and screwdriver for $20 that you can easily hack with clear 3/8" tubing with additional bit(s) you may need or any 1/4" attatchment that runs the 1/4" bits. Cool series, thanks for sharing.
@@geraldroberts4721 most definitely! And I agree with the Milwaukee. A great tool and I should have gone with that one. Yes sir I think a lot of people would prefer to go into a store to pick up what’s needed. And not all of us have a $300 budget to get everything. I don’t imagine everyone needs these 5 things but if it can help them see the one thing they need, I would like that. Thank you for your continued support.
My sheath was the same way at first, almost like it wasn’t going in all the way. It broke in quite fast and now has solid retention with an audible click. Very solid little fixed blade it’s my favorite sized for fixed blades. I kinda like the coating on the blade it’s pretty interesting. I threw a ulti clip on mine as I’m not a fan of plastic clips but other than that it’s very solid for the price!
@@Knifetoagunfight17 I gotta mess with it some more. Honestly the retention was the one thing holding me back from making this a staple in the carry rotation. Same on the ulti clip ✊🏽
For anyone looking for one they just stocked some for online order in black and od green on the app but orange is still out of stock. I’ve been looking for one without paying some scalper for it so I was excited to finally see them

Damn, too bad it's tip-up pocket clip.
@@travisrose2277 not a fan? Wanting some insight, what are some of the cons to tip up?
@NotYourGrandpasEDC they seem more dangerous to carry. I don't want to slice my hand open reaching into my pocket in the event the detent fails and let's the blade come open. Tip-down is also easier and quicker to deploy, since I don't have to fiddle with it and rotate it 180° before deploying.
@valid 👍🏽 thank you

No. Most of us wouldn't be able to tell the difference between steels if they weren't labeled. Especially because vast majority are using them to open another knife! I don't mind a budget steels at all because they are easy to maintain. I can sharpen any steel out there but don't actually love doing it so I prefer something that's easy to maintain.
@@overlandedc great perspective! The other benefits of cheap knives is that you can actually learn to sharpen for those that don’t know how without worrying about messing up your expensive blade
For the price this knife has been hands down so much fun and extremely fidgety. If you want a fun knife and don't want to worry if you lose it this is the one. Price point doesn't even make sense.
@@SolarKoNg8512 very well said. $10 for this knife is a steal. I’m happy that they’re finally starting to restock them.
I don't think it was really worth the money in 2024. Good mini plier, okay bit holder, all the other tools are basically toy-sized.
@@griftgfx I’d have to agree. $25? Sure. $50? No way, far better options at that price point. 👍🏽
@@NotYourGrandpasEDC I keep mine in my laptop bag along with some precision bits. It's a pretty good packable needle nose light duty plier at least, but I basically never use any of the other implements anymore.

After Christmas they were $10 at my local Walmart. I bought all 4 to give away as gifts.
I didn't know about the Gordon multitool. I've been deciding between the gerber truss and the smith&Wesson multitool. Leatherman is too expensive but I want a decent name brand. What do you suggest thats somewhat budget friendly but still a name brand?
@@JohnHolt-j5f this may take you by surprise but outside of leatherman I really like mossy oak and ozark trail. Ozark Trail because I’ve had a few and they last. Mossy oak because of project farms video. The other option you have is to search the used market for a leatherman. Here recently I found a new in box leatherman signal for 80 (140 in stores)
How do I sign up?
@@MonumentHeatandAirLLC we’ll be announcing the giveaway rules as we get closer to the 1k mark! Stick around, there will be several winners 👍🏽
As someone who’s never owned a civivi knife, what would you recommend for a first time purchase? I’ve currently carried a Walmart gerber knife for work and a spyderco for edc outside of work. Id like to upgrade my work knife for now. I tend to use it for 3 inch straps, thicker zip ties, and banding.
@@NotSponsoredJustBroke excellent question. If it’s gonna be a hard work knife I like the civivi Incindie. If we need something a little bit cheaper I would say the Placoid. Both are made with 14C28N. Very strong steel. Hope this helps sir ✊🏽
I would recommend a partially serrated blade for what you stated your work is. The only civivi i have is mini praxis. I love it for edc but i would not call it a work knife.
This one is part of my EDC: lite but handy. Bought it on sale on Amazon. Love it.

@@AlexisDanage-pena cool little bundle here and I’m happy I was able to find some for the giveaway!
3:30 you lost my at your "flashlight" choice, delete the markers and and the ratcheting tool and "splurge" a little on their slim USB rechargeable pocket light (item number 70806). I currently EDC a more expensive Coast version of that light and use it all the time. Laugh if you want to but until you EDC a flashlight you won't understand how handy it is. You will use it more than you think you will.
@@davidhawthorne9637 I understand your sentiment, but the point of this series is to get all five items under $50. I don’t like the flashlight choice either. Better flashlights will be shown later in time. I’ll probably even do a video where I choose the best item from each EDC bundle. At the end of the day, these aren’t my end all be all tools. These are all items I will be giving away when the series is complete.
That thing belongs in a small, get home bag. Small size, lots of tools and not something that gets used very often. Cool tool, thanks!
@@geraldroberts4721 not a bad idea! Thank you sir 👍🏽
I was getting ready to type the same exact thing. I had bought the power pint and returned it due to its size. I now walk around with a leatherman signal and completely love it. Use it on a regular basis throughout my day. Although just last week my vehicle had blown a fuse that was tucked behind multiple wires and my leatherman felt like it was too big for the task. All of a sudden I was wishing I had had kept the power pint in my edc/work bag. I may dabble around next Black Friday and pick one up for the 25 dollar price tag and stick it in an altoid tin with some bits.
@ the Altoid can with bits may be the way to go. I’m happy you get use of out the signal but I’m sorry to hear about your rough experience. Hopefully down the line leatherman brings back a small keychain multi tool
I'm lost here. EDC means "everyday carry".... Why would I need to carry the box cutter when I have the multi-tool. Why would I carry that light when I could buy a cheap Pen light. and the ratcheting screwdriver set is not needed for an Everyday carry when the multi tool already has a flat and phillips in it. What type of EDC are you talking about. Remember it's "Everyday"....
@@michaelbonanno9491 I understand it’s different for everyone. So I kept it down to the things I carry daily. I know this doesn’t fit everyone’s needs, in the first video to the series. I explained that it’s trying to possibly replace some of my things that I carry daily. Or at least seeing what else is out there at a competitive price. The multi tool is for the pliers everything else to me is a bonus and redundant. I think cheap flashlights are a good idea and I’ll be reviewing some of those shortly. The multitool has the bits, but if I’m being honest, I don’t think they’re as substantial as a regular screwdriver. I get that some people will need pry bars, tape measures and other objects I don’t use daily. I figured this would be a cool way to show alternatives to my carry.
@@michaelbonanno9491 and perhaps I should’ve reemphasize some of this at the beginning of this video like I did in the Walmart one
The tools are 5cr. For the price the steel has to be at the very least 7cr to compete with 420.
@@christophwilhelm6431 agreed. It would be nice to see one in an updated steel.
@@NotYourGrandpasEDC The justification is it's small and it can't be used that hard, but the real reason is profit margin.... no matter how small it is it serves no purpose when the edges fold over.
5cr and paper thin implements. They're barely tools.
I think $40.00 to $60.00 is a good price for a knife...

@ well then I’m happy you found my channel! I love budget gear and reviewing it✊🏽 and please know that I always appreciate the comments and support
I know for me this is just too small for the price they ask. I've been trying to find a good multitool for that price range at some of my box stores and decided I'd rather take the Gordon brand wave clone. While it doesn't have a full size bit driver it's not something I need since I regularly carry a pocket screwdriver from kobalt that has since been discontinued but can be bought from steelman. It has the reach I want from a screwdriver whereas this sog would just be a hindrance with the amount of reach it has and as you said no storage for the bits. Overall I think it can be a good back up tool but the price definitely needs to come down in order to meet with the full size competition
@@Rezigunn 100% agreed. If people can find it around or under that $30 mark then I can recommend it otherwise there’s better options.

@@beaglemit that’s not a bad idea! I think I’ll make a video for that one down the road! Just as cool and more probable of getting some use.
Outdoors55 has a video about that D2 ozark trail knife where his had been sharpened too quickly at the factory and ruined the heat treat on the edge. There are so many variables when it comes to knives and the art vs. science of sharpening has led to all sorts of snobbery. At the end of the day, it all comes down to whether or not the knife sparks joy in your daily life. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ P.s. Vanax does sound neat, though.

I will only use a knife that is made of Adamantium. 😂 I feel only knife collectors focus so much on blade steel. It’s part of the addiction. I buy what I like and don’t go out of my way to get the latest blade steel. My favorite knife is the Winkler SD1 and the steel is a budget steel…but it cuts and gets the job done and looks good doing it.
@@EddietheApe everyone knows Adamantium is the only way to go😂 my wife’s philosophy on buying knives is to get ones she thinks look cool and when I think about it, that’s probably the most valid reason there is ✊🏽😂
