What frame shop did you work with? I am a framer and would love to learn more about them
All that and you barely show the final image.
Gorgeous
The wrinkles are part of the print, although the print that was in the video actually shows more wrinkling than the prints do now. After staining them we flattened them which reduced the wrinkles but did not eliminate them. The print in the video was not flattened. Luis is quite fond of the wrinkles though. In terms of mounting and framing. The print would be hinged with tissue paper along the upper and lower edges. Then it would be floated, to show the entire print or it could be overmatted, but the overmat would ideally be floated a bit above the print so as not to accentuate the wrinkles.
Beautiful print. The effort required is amazing! One question. How do you deal with wrinkles when mounting and framing it?
Thank you for sharing Chris’ insights. I look forward to future videos. Kenton Spading
Are you offering workshops in this process? I've been a wet-plate photographer for several years and I would love to learn this technique. If not, are there any books you are aware of that could with a formal tutorial? How fortunate you are to have worked with Edward Curtis' glass plates. I worked at the Washington State Historical Society and I works with many Ashel Curtis' plates. Of course that's not the same thing. But I was still very excited to do so anyway. Thanks again.
Are you still in WA? I am also a wet plater who wants to learn orotones and live in WA.
@VtorHunter No, I no longer live in Washington. I've moved across the country
A fascinating process!
Stunning exhibition :-) Awesome work :-)
Wow....... Stunning work! Thank you for taking the time to record this :-)
I just learned of Edward Curtis through a Sean Tucker video. This looks a beautiful set. 👍🏻
