GOOGLE 4K STREAMER and Amazon Fire Stick 4k Max ($35 black Friday) used the same Mediatek mt8696 CPU. So I expect similar performance. Google does have more RAM (4GB vs 2GB) since the Google Streamer is released almost 2 year after the Amazon. The problems with these new devices is that chip development has really matured and slowed down. If you want do a proper upgrade. You really need to skip a generation. In this case, the GOOGLE 4K STREAMER and the Amazon Fire Stick 4K Max are in the same generation. So you already have Fire Stick 4k Max, I would skip the Google streamer.

hilarious, I have one (FORMULER remote IR) and the instructions on the back of the remote on how to pair it to your TV so you can turn the TV on and off and adjust the volume DO NOT WORK.

How do I use the numeric numbers to change the channels? For example if I press 3457 then OK it does show me the channel

I dont think you understand what 'Mobile data always active' means. You say you turn it on even though people are going to wifi, as if having it on will allow wifi to be on. What this ACTUALLY means is that it will use data (like cell phone plan data), if it can, even though wifi is on. Meaning it will use 2 sources of wireless data receiving. If you are only using wifi, having mobile data turned on is completely useless and makes the device use more resources for no reason (meaning work harder and likely, in the end, losing performance/speed). If you're not using mobile data, it should just be turned off to save power and performance resources. There is no point in turning it on. It does not improve wifi, or enable wifi to work. Wifi works on its own, and doesnt depend on "mobile data" functions to operate. It litterally hints at you, that you dont need it, if you are already using wifi {"even when wi-fi is active"} The point of this feature is for in the case that mobile data is running really slow all of a sudden, it will switch to wifi instead to get better results, and switch back when mobile is faster. You are telling people to turn on features that you dont even understand. You're just assuming what they mean based on what you think they sound like they're saying. Its like you havent even researched anything these and went out and made a youtube video telling people what useless/pointless features to turn on. Its like you're trying to look smart to everyone by explaining things that arent relevent to anyone with knowledge that isnt even real.

Listening to your video with headphones makes my ears want to implode. The sound is too high frequency and almost inside out. there is no low end. it is weirdly painful and i hate it.

great video. quick question: does the tv and device have to stay on in order to record? Or can I set up a recording for later in the day, leave and it will turn on and record as scheduled.

Awesome video Jeff. I don't always schedule an event. I'm more of a person who records on the fly. Is there any special way to record on the fly, sometimes it doesn't work.

Its nice to have the red dot indicating that a recording is in progress, but im wondering if they could fade that red dot a little or give us options fade it or remove it. Thanks

Hey Jeff. There's a shorter way to set up recording and schedule. Just scroll to the program you want to record, long press the OK button and release it and it will give you the option to set up the recording and schedule without going to the menu and settings.

Puffin browser wouldn't load.. couldn't even get to the URL bar.

I have the option to download offline content in watchlist pro. The problem is it points to the internal storage. I don't know why you're not able to change this within the app or z10 settings

Jail brake direct tv

I have two Fomuler Z11 pro max, and they both have the updates; but I can't move the apps around with any consistency. Whether by holding down the ok button or just tapping the button so that the drop down menu appears without the app opening up. What am I doing wrong? PS, I have a bunch of Firesticks and I am new to the steaming process but the Fomuler is definitely hands above anything that the Firesticks can offer.
