If I sincerely disagree with all of the Reformed creeds and confessions, am I bound to any of them or to anything they teach such that I have to override my own conscience?

Every man born into the world is subject to the law of God, whether he has knowledge thereof or not. Reformed theology is simply and only the proper explanation of the word of God. The principles of Reformed theology are irrefutable. Therefore those who do not believe the gospel as taught by the Reformers and Puritans are under the curse of God, as it is written, "he that believeth you believeth me". It makes no difference whether in your conscience you feel better being a Baptist, or a Buddhist. All false religion falls under the same curse. "Cursed is everyone that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them." Gal. 3:10 The definition of faith is to believe in free grace, as says Romans 3 and 4. Predestination and election are essential to the gospel, as Ephesians 1, Romans 9 and Colossians say. All who believe in free will (i.e. works righteousness) are under the curse. All who believe that free willers are believers (works righteousness) are under the curse. The truth of scripture doesn't change because of your feelings.

@@ethanjames1646 I am a former calvinist and don't believe reformed theology is the only explanation. Do I have to just take your word for that, or do you want me to follow my conscience regarding scripture? I don't agree that Romans 3 and 4, Colossians, Ephesians, or Romans 9 teaches any of what you just said they teach. Calvinism was not believed by anyone until John Calvin. I simply don't believe that the Church from the earliest Christians until 1500 years later was ignorant of the most basic tenants of the Christian Gospel. Even Augustine, the beloved saint of Calvinists everywhere, wouldn't consider Calvinism to be Christianity and agreed with very little of what Calvin would later espouse.

@@EpistemicAnthony Your historical assertions are EMPTY and useless. You're labeling free grace as Calvinism and then dismissing it as if its not exposition. The Bible teaches free grace as opposed to free will. If you disagree with justification by grace through faith, your war is against God. We the messengers of the gospel are called to proclaim it. I'm not trying to persuade you of anything. If you believe in free will, go and be damned. Your damnation is insignificant in the grand scale of things. Thousands of other idolaters, will-worshipers, merit mongers and legalists have perished and gone to hell before you, so don't pretend you're special. Those who believe the word of God believe in free grace. It matters nothing if you don't believe it, except what pertains to your own benefit, which you have already sold for the devil's use. There are thousands of Biblical proofs for predestination, and none for free will. If you want to disagree with Romans 9 and Ephesians 1, your contest is with God, and I am not concerned at all about who will come out victorious. I can preach free grace without John Calvin. But God has called his church in unity, and so I use the expositions of godly men of the past. Augustine, Calvin, Luther, the Puritans. Take but a brief look thru Luther's bondage of the will if you dare. Your delusions shall soon be put to rest. Either way, except you believe, you will die in your sins.

@@ethanjames1646 I am familiar with Luther's bondage of the will as well as all the texts ysed to support Calvinism, as I studied them prior to and during my time as a Calvinist. I no longer find them convincing. You can reject the history if you want, but the fact is Augustine would reject you as a heretic, and he would still be the one most similar to your views.

@@EpistemicAnthony You'll forgive me if I don't take your word for it. "For if the article of justification be once lost, then is all true Christian doctrine lost. And as many as are in the world that hold not this doctrine, are either Jews, Turks, Papists or heretics. For between the righteousness of the law and the righteousness of Christ, or between active and passive righteousness, there is no mean. He then that strayeth from this Christian righteousness, must need fall into the active righteousness; that is to say, when he hath lost Christ, he must fall into the confidence of his own works." Martin Luther
