Bleeps and bloops. Drips and drops. I make these sounds using tape loops, a microkorg, field recordings, guitars and whatever else i can get my hands on.

Mood piece from one machine to another
มุมมอง 63121 วันที่ผ่านมา
i wanted to make a mood piece using some related but weaving chords which i looped on the 414 (left) then bounced down elements from those to the 02 (right) at low levels and on an already degraded tape for a bit of warble and crunch. #ambientmusic #tapeloops #tapemanipulation
Jam on Storm Bert
มุมมอง 16421 วันที่ผ่านมา
A day late uploading and again it's been a little break from posting stuff here. The studio is in flux while i refurbish. more on that later perhaps. i had a glorious sound walk yesterday listening to the effect of storm bert here in the uk. i woke up to the roar of it and went out to listen and record some of the different sounds it was making through the local area. here i looped some of thos...
Slow Burning Stories (clip) - Antihistamine 2024
มุมมอง 78หลายเดือนก่อน
Go get the album here: histaminetapes.bandcamp.com/album/antihistamine-2024-ht108 This is a clip from piece i made for the Antihistamine 2024 compilation. This year's theme was Fire / 'Bring the heat'. I wanted to avoid the obvious approach of recording an actual fire but it’s that time of year and it’s been on my mind a while anyway so I laid my portable recorder down while losing myself in a ...
Slow dawn - Full jam 2024-10-08
มุมมอง 4882 หลายเดือนก่อน
hey yeah it's been a little while; life. well, work mostly. this morning i found some bonus time being up crazy early so i managed to get a little jam time. watching the dawn light glimmer through the trees i was feeling the need for something acoustic and ended up with some bowed acoustic guitar which i tracked to tape loop, slowed down, yada yada yada (i *will* make a process video soon, i pr...
Particle accelerator
มุมมอง 7123 หลายเดือนก่อน
First quick play with the Red Panda Particle 2. No manual, just fiddling around and in the back of my mind, trying this out to help with live performance. Getting some of those extra layers out from final recordings back into the real world. This is a sort of loose take on an upcoming piece to be released this year hopefully. #ambientjam #experimentalmusic #fxpedals #tapeloops
Treadmill Drones
มุมมอง 3293 หลายเดือนก่อน
apparently i am a person who uses a treadmill now. not ready to run outside in front of people but it is helping my mental health. i sampled some of it yesterday and chucked two versions onto a tape loop - took a bit of fiddling with the pitch wheel to get some kind of coherent loop - and panned them L & R. the rest is drones from the back and forth of patch & pedal tweaking. happy sunday. #amb...
what to do with an incredibly wonky tape loop?
มุมมอง 2053 หลายเดือนก่อน
make it wonkier, of course. this began as an already warbly sequence on the sh01, made worse (or better?) by the space echo and a degraded tape loop, then sent out to the mood for yet more wonk. reminds me of the dungeons and dragons theme tune, maybe after the a few hours of The Caretaker softly erasing it. Felt it needs a little bit of anchoring though, hence the bass line. which also descend...
Diane tapes
มุมมอง 953 หลายเดือนก่อน
Summer & autumn really flicked a switch here the last few days. i'm not quite ready for autumn but last night gave in and got twin peaks s1 out for some autumn feels. This morning i remembered i still have a tape copy of Agent Copper's Diane Tapes on long term loan... i should really give that back. but anyways. playing in the porta 02 here with all 4 tracks open - and in true twin peaks fashio...
Butt dial alien drone // sunday morning magic
มุมมอง 743 หลายเดือนก่อน
Someone butt dialled me this morning and left a voicemail of what i think is a person talking in the room but it's so effected (denoised like early skype days) and picking up room resonance as much as the voice. i loved it! so of course i recorded it and then added some verb and then something even better happened. i accidentally made a feedback loop by playing not only the recorded track and t...

Sounds suberb. I love the way it degrades and brakes up as the piece goes on, really lovely. Love the new album by the way-great work! ❤
@@Magnetic_loops ahh thank you so much for listening! 🙏🏻
How do you make your videos man? incredible stuff!
@@johnj2401 Hey! thanks, this was the work of Josh at the Soundghost label. He has a nice continued theme throughout all the releases. soundghost.net
Wow! Man very very nice! I’ll be listening to this all day.
@@Dahkkloudmusic 😊 thank you so much!
I love it; it reminded me of the album Pop by GAS. :)
@@the.cityscapes oof nice! thanks very much.
Cool!
@@moonandmelodies thank you
very nice! I like how you brought the song to a close.
@@Joe3707-z8z oh thanks very much!
beautiful! please can you tell me how you programme your microkorg?
thanks! i just design my own patches from scratch. usually start by choosing a wave shape for each oscillator, play around with various parameters until it fits or creates a character i like. sometimes i set out to create or emulate something i’ve heard too. that can be a good starting point.
This is so beautiful. ❤️
@@scaryfontofficial Thanks so much 😊🙏🏻
Sometimes I think that there's more good music out there than there is time to hear it. I'm glad that I could find this tune in my time.
I just finished cleaning up a broken lava lamp. This is the perfect come down music. Thank you.
😅 oh no!! well i’m glad i could help haha.
If only it was so calm and relaxing to be in storm Bert at the time!
nice!

@@karinegrandvoinet2038 Thanks a lot! 🙏🏻
Very nice!!! What are you using? Can you put a list of your equipment? I was curious, what is the cassette thing? Are you recording to a zoom?
@@ImaGold-n8p Thank you very much. i try to vary things but mostly i am using some kind of synth through an fx pedal into a cassette 4 track recorder. Once i’ve got some sounds i like to perform with i’ll record that straight into a DAW (not pictured). i’m still hoping to make some kind of process video soon so i can explain it a bit better 😊
@ ahh thank you!!! It is really inspiring! Thank you for sharing your art!

Beautiful. Now subscribed.

@@sonauratube The first "proper" recorder I had experience with was a TASCAM 424, back in the 90s. The guys and I (in our little high school rock band) upgraded to the TASCAM after using a cheap mixer from the Guitar Center clearance section, connected to a boom box via aux in. The good ol' days!!
@ nice!! i had one of those for band recording too! learnt so much through the limitations 👌🏻
Amazing. I am so doing this haha 🌌🎛️🎹

Very nice as always! Would you ever make a video about your tape recording process? Is there much that goes into it? I use to do some cassette tape stuff a couple years back but stopped. They never sounded as good as your ones haha
@@Dahkkloudmusic ah thanks. sorry to hear you stopped doing it. i’ve thought about it filming the process many times but i always get lost in it so quickly and never want to go back to film the parts 😅. i’m gonna put that on my list to do it properly though. thank you for asking 🙏🏻
Ha well I had stop more so because I needed to give the tascam back to my friend haha. But man, you’re musics great, always enjoy seeing them come up in my feed! If you get to making a video about process that would be great
@@Dahkkloudmusic oh i see! fair enough. cool, yeah i will do it. gives me a new challenge 😁

Lovely percussive tones. It works really well with the synth and pedals.
@@apexcreditor ah thanks so much. yeah it’s a weird one! i don’t usually include much percussive stuff but sometimes it can be a drone in itself eh.
