So, first, I create a rectangle to round transition with 'sharp-cornered bends'.
I explain the theory behind using an internal bending radius of 1.3 times the metal sheet's thickness. And I explain this using the right angle L profile; you can achieve the same result as a corner joint.

Oblong (Oval):

or

𝑅𝑛 = 0.5 × 𝐷𝑛
