This Steelers squad was great to be able to pretty much carry a rookie QB to a 15-1 record coupled w a hell of a running game.
There was nothing in sports like FOX NFL Football in the mid/late 1990's.

Damm cowshits.
Mike Williams is definition of a relic from a different era, now, it’s known teams want their tackles slimmer and with better movement, he’s just huge & slow lmao easy to bully college ends with that, not in the league.
Bill Woodson
Achiva a car with some serious additude
1st home div playoff game for a ny team since when and who was that team’s hc? 1 clue I’ll give is that i wish the lead crew of gumbel AND simms did this game instead
RIP John Saunders, Irv Cross, Tom Mees, Marty Schottenheimer, Joe Walton
Thank you John Saunders for mentioning The Bears weak schedule in 86. For years The Bears had no competition in the NFC Central.
The two best teams in the league were in the same division. The Giants & Washington
Junior Seau and Cortez Kennedy were far and away the best players in the top ten
I forgot just how many Penn State running back busts there were in the 80's and 90's
The early 90s cowboys were a great team all around
I have a soft spot for Joey Harrington, but a telltale sign that they’re not that good is when they never mention their attributes as a QB, just “he’s a winner” lmao
Looking up these guys career and.... wow. ROUGH first round.
Thanks for the upload! Really interesting seeing how draft day unfolded for all these players we've heard about all our lives.
@@robertpayne6781 you’re welcome
Seeing everyone doubt Warren Moon right before he went on a stretch of making 9 pro bowls in 10 years is hilarious.
Its weird Bo could just get drafted by a different team the next year? One would think the Bucs would have retained the rights to sign him? Or did he just refuse to do so?
I never knew the whole Bo being drafted by the Bucs situation was a thing
The birth of Aaron Rodgers stardom! Also, Bryant was a better play-by-play announcer than given credit for. Him, Collinsworth, and Schefter for a game. I’d take that over Nantz and Romo any day!
R.I .P. Greg Gumbel
The beginning of the history making dynasty
Worst time management on that last KC drive maybe ever. I’m a lifelong Bronco fan & remember ALWAYS feeling awful for that poor slob Marty-the nicest coach w the worst luck. I bet he STILL sees Elway in his nightmares. 😄🤷♂️
I was there. 14 years old. 😭
This is a painful style of football to watch compared with todays game…..appears slower and more like trench warfare. QB’s with lead in their feet.
NFL Network debuted that season to providers
Rematched in the NFC Wild Card Carolina beat Dallas 29-10
One Yard Short
The goof ball should have never started Grbac because Rich Gannon had the offense firing on all cylinders going into this game God rest his soul
Steve young such a hater
El Barnaby Prieto MVP of that game
I was at this game....loudest Cowboys game I've ever been to!
Kapp is clotheslined after scoring, and the guy is allowed to just walk away. Where was the flag or his teammates coming to his defense?
Despite losing the game, holding the defending SB champs & the Hall of Fame Triplets to 12 points is mightily impressive.
This game is the ultimate argument for Emmitt as the greatest RB in NFL history (at least, the modern history of the NFL).
a bunch of men that didn't live past middle age
prob the best year a rb has ever had was Emmitt in 1993. Dummy Jerry Jones thought he could win w/o Emmitt...ha ha ha. 0 and 2 to start the season. No team up til then had ever gone 0 and 2 and won a SB. Emmitt was the heartbeat of that team. He wins the rushing title only playing 14 games...MVP of the league...MVP of the Super Bowl which Aikman was imo a little woozy still from being concussed in this game, so Jimmy said at halftime "give it to Emmitt". They did and won. The Emmitt game vs the Giants which they HAD to have to get homefield. So, NFL rushing champion. Super Bowl Champ and SB MVP!!! Also, MVP of the league. Other than a 2000-yard season what DIDN'T Emmitt do!!!!!! To me (yes I'm bias!!!) Emmitt was an all-around better running back than Barry. If I remember correctly the Lions used to take Barry out of the game when they were on the 2 or 3 yard line b cuz Barry would lose yards a lot. I could be wrong, but I think I remember that one pretty good ..?? If I'm wrong about that my bad but i'm pretty sure ...Emmitt was a way better pass catcher than Barry too it wasn't even close. Emmitt was a better blocker for Aikman. And most important... he was a winner. Of course, Emmitt had a better team around him too although in the 91 divisional playoffs the Lions destroyed the Cowboys 38 to 7 or close to that. But you knew the next year...watch out. I swear I'm not making this up but imo I thought they were going all the way the next year. I started recording every game starting in the 92 season when I believe on Monday Night Football they played the world champion Redskins and destroyed them. Almost every game was on locally and I live in Ma.!!! I also got ahold of every newspaper I could on Monday to make an eventual scrapbook of what I thought would be a special season. This of course is before internet and social media blah blah...I still haven't put together the scrapbook, but I have all the newspaper clippings and magazines w Dallas on the cover etc... everything is in perfect condition like the newspapers were bought yesterday. Then 2 horrible things happened...Jerry Jones pushes out Jimmy Johnson and the real killer that the other dynasties of the 3 previous decades didn't have to deal with.....oh just this stupid thing called the salary cap AND free agency rules which picked apart the youngest team in the NFL!!!!! when they won in 92. They were so deep talent wise that the 2nd stringers would've made the wild card playoffs!!!!! the youngest team in the NFL and they get destroyed and penalized because why??? they BOUGHT all their good players?? no...they drafted them and almost every pick was a good player. Just like the 49ers did in the 80's . Just like the Steelers did ( and the Cowboys..Gil Brandt was a genius btw and the 70's Cowboys went to 5 Super Bowls in 10 yrs!!!! The 60's Packers drafted well and were untouched. Dallas would've won 6 to 7 Super Bowls in the 90's if they kept the rules the same . I mean they even won a SB with that clown Barry Switzer in 95. I still don't know how they did it ??!!!! they finally beat the Steelers which was great. That's what makes what the Patriots did for 20 years abso amazing!!! Sure the 1st 3 out of 4 years was great defense but also Brady and the clutches kicker ever. TU Jerry for the 3 SB'S but man plz go away. unfortunately you know the son is right behind him and I feel bad for newer Cowboy's fans who have suffered for 30 years now w/o 1 single nfc champ. game appearance. When I started liking them in 1980 Staubach had just retired and Danny White who was a great QB went to 3 NFC champ. games in a row and lost every one....that was my young kid intro to the Cowboy's. The most heartbreaking one wasn't the Eagles or the Redskins...it was the Dwight Clark (R.I.P.) 49ers loss. Now that was getting your heart ripped out. I was 10 yrs. old and it might as well have been yesterday. I mean they had Montana...Too Tall chasing him..Bob Breunig etc and Montana just throws it up and Dwight goes up as high as he can possibly jump and comes down w it. Guess what?? that team was untouched for 10 years and won 4 SB'S. I'm a Red Sox fan and I believed in that curse I remember at 9 years old that one game playoff where Bucky flipping dent hits a cheap hr and that's it...the Buckner play..the AARON BOONE another bucky dent hr thru the heart BUT of course 2004. I was a Celtics fan as a kid in the 80's so that's all good but seeing the boys win at 21 years old and 22 and 24...i saw all 4 of my teams win multiple championships (except the Bruins) can't complain about any Boston team.....see i'm a little weird when it came to the Pats as a kid b cuz I hated the "NEW ENGLAND thing instead of Boston like they used to be called. So I picked the Cowboys helmet in the Woolworths window over the Steelers and Pats. picked the Cowboy's helmet and said as a young kid well..if i have the helmet for better or worse they're my team...period. sorry so long and boring!!!!
This is when I really enjoyed watching NFC Championship games. Ever since this NFC championship games, the rest have NFC title games have sucked!!!
My boyhood hero. The only athlete I’d ever really want to meet!
Mitch Berger when he was in Minnesota as he tackled a punt returner ever in Minnesota Vikings history in the pro bowl representing the NFC team history
Heartbreaking Moment That I'll Never Forget 😢💯
RIP Steve McNair. A great quarterback. No RIP for the psycho B**ch that killed him. And RIP Greg Gumbel. What a great announcer he was. One of my favorites
if pats won it dont count they cheated
Morall was the true MVP for the Jets
