Lived in the Seagate opposite the Castle Gate. Thankyou for the images.
i live here
That was terrific. I remember crossing the bridge every day going to school at Loudon Montgomery, a travesty to take it away (the bridge)and the old railway station.

Thank you for sharing your pictures. I just found out I have an ancestor from the 1700s from Scotland and to see this makes me feel the lay of the land Sir Ludovic Grant of lived in.
What was once a beautiful town, totally ruined by IDC and continues to be ruined by North Ayrshire Council. Very, very sad
Kilwinning Road? Taken from Peking Chef area heading toward Kilwinning?

Many thanks to Lou Smith @ lousmith.co.uk for use of the stadium shot - only noticed your name after I posted the video.
Thank you very much for putting this excellent collection of images together. I have not seen many of them before, it was a real treat to see so many parts of the town which have been brutally butchered at the hands of people with no vision or appreciation of the Royal Burgh's tremendous heritage (and it is still going on today, if you have a look at the recladding of Bridgegate House and the plans for Magnum 2, you will see what I mean).
