I had cataract surgery yesterday with EDOF with astigmatism, it’s been 31 hours after operation and my pupils are still half dilated and the top layer of iris is thinner than other parts of the iris. And I don’t have any focus at all, I see some items at the distance but they are blurry and in some kind of fog. I’m very frustrated that I’m thinking of cancelling the 2nd operation in 2 weeks for the eye which is very myopic as the operated eye with cataract was. But at least I don’t have a cataract there yet, not developed, so I can actually see in glasses. I have post op appointment in 6 days. If my vision is not clear by then the 2nd op will be gone. And I will try to get this eye back.

@@Rita50 Hi there, how is your vision now with EDOF with astigmatism. What was the brand name of the EDOF? Was it the EDOF Toric type IOL lens that they put in for you? or just a plain EDOF ? I have read on the Toric type of IOL lens, they said that it will be blurry if it was not positioned or lined up correctly as specified on the lens during the surgery. It has to be positioned per as perfect as possible as per spec. The normal mono focal lens positioning is not as critical but still work well and produce clear vision after operation. I was thinking of puting a Clareon Vivity EDOF lens on my left eye as you did, but also consider a monofocal Toric as well. I will talk to my Dr. for his opinion and which one he is familia with and how many he has done and the success he had with other patients before I decide. I hope that you did not require to have another operation to reposition or to exchange a new lens on your left eye.

Same here it's day 30 but both eyes are blurry i am scared btw what's your current situation?

@@IpostIos it’s still the same…I know it can be scary…the second month was the most stressful and kind of depressing for me since there’s no improvement. But I realised worrying about something we can’t control is only gonna spoil our mental health. It’s better to talk with your doctor to know the cause. In my case they’re saying all we can do is wait until 6 months to come to any conclusion. Btw what was your power before surgery?

@@AlekhyaCreates my power was -6 both and I used to use contact lenses for long time so it was common in my life to get infection from it and eyes used to become red and scary so I decided to do prk surgery and it's day 30 today only I went to hospital doctor said wait 15-20 it will improve but I am toooooooo scary because my age is only 20

@@IpostIos your age and power is almost similar to mine…I genuinely hope it’s taking longer for us because of high power…my right is mostly okay…what about you? Are your both eyes blurry or one is better?

@@FakhraAli-ms5dd I am not sure how far you are in the healing process but just after my comment in week 4 my vision improved big time. Only after long days after the computer I have a lot of ghosting but only if I have a stressfull day. It is really weird how that went. At this point I can say almost for sure that vision is 98%.

Over the next two to three days, your vision may remain hazy and blurry as part of the healing process. By about a week after the surgery, you can expect to have achieved approximately 80% of the vision recovery. However, it may take six to eight weeks for your vision to stabilize fully, giving you the clear and crisp vision you desired from the PRK procedure.

@@bsolo505 no problem, my vision is soooo much better now I can actually see better then 20/20. I’m at about a 20/15. I’m just waiting for the sharpness to get a bit better. The doc just looked at my eyes yesterday and said the sharpness will deff get better. I just have a new issue that I’m dealing with and the pressure in my eyes now is too high from the Steroid drops. I got added 2 other drops to drop the pressure down. Hopefully it gets better bc it’s making me nervous. Make sure you follow your eye drops to a T. I know it’s hard for you right now but your eyes will get better I promise. 👍 Good luck!

It’s essential to understand that PRK recovery takes time. Your vision might be blurry initially, and stabilising can take a few days to several weeks. Be patient and allow your eyes to heal. Adequate rest and sleep are crucial to your recovery, so ensure you’re getting enough of both. Your surgeon will provide you with specific post-operative care instructions. These instructions are designed to help your eyes heal properly and minimise complications. Following them diligently is crucial for a smooth recovery. This may include using prescribed eye drops and avoiding rubbing your eyes.

If that's the case, contact your surgeon to see what solutions they can offer. Sometimes top-up procedures are required.

I went with the Bates Method. It cost me $40 and I went from -2 to -0.50 in 1 year allowing me to stop using glasses. 1 person I know who got surgery took 6 months to fully recover from the surgery.

I’m having the same issue. I too am scared. Did it clear up? When? I’m saying a prayer for us both.

it has been 2 months for me now and I still see double. The eye doctor says I need to get laser treatment when 6 months have gone by, so I am still hoping this will be fixed.@@joysanders59

@@rjallday28 terrible, still the same. the eye doctor says I need to have laser correction in the one eye and they can first do it 6 months after the operation. I hope this helps the double vision problem, because seeing double has ruined so much of my life specially when I work with graphics.

@florencetown4024 That sucks! I am an IB math teacher who had to prepare my seniors for their external exams. Before the surgery I was told the recovery wil be 1-2 weeks. Upon my week's checkup, I was told it may take up to 3 months for my vision to "settle". Just beautiful.

I feel the same. I am a teacher also. It's been almost 5 weeks since PRK and not only am I still blurry, but I somehow got recurrent erosion of the cornea! So I have no idea what to expect. 😢

@jiji ♡ Gets better everyday but I'm still blurry (my 2nd time getting prk in 20 years). I have follow up tomorrow. 2. 5 week follow up

@jiji ♡ Left eye gets better everyday but my right eye is on the struggle bus - lol Still blurry in that eye. Epithelium is rough according to the Dr. It'll be a month tomorrow I go back for another follow up in a couple weeks.

I’m on Day 9 and still can’t drive. I was a +6.00 in both eyes though. My near vision is crisp. I just can’t see clear passed 10’

Hey same problem ..my right eye is 90% better it's been 5 days ...but my left eye both near and far away are still blurry 😅not sure did i moved my eyes during laser ..
