miss seeing you play Jonny, hope all is well
That was one extra good nite of sweet ass music right there!
What a fuckin good song
Pesado pesado pesado um cheirador pesado 😅
Indie pretty boy who writes pretty melodies. Pretty awesome.
I watch and listen to this one all the time.
perhaps my all time favourite song<3 stephen malkmus is absolutely phenomenal and he has an entire catalogue of songs which are all incredible beyond words but.. something about church on white just reaches to me in a way no other song has the ability to. i genuinely wouldn't be here today without his self-titled album, nor the rest of his incredible discography.
Fucking lit
Bomb bomb bomb
Props to the dude who went on stage he was a real one
WOW !! thanks for sharing !
Fire
Blessings u sir
I'm back at this video 8 years later because I was at this show, and it was all I could think about while I gave myself a covid haircut.
So good.
Must've been the most surreal experience for Charlie
He's written scores of great songs, none is better than this
Saw them at Bonnaroo 2013. Jonny was all busted up from skate board accident ? That's what he told us anyway. Awesome song , tight band, great show !
South Austin Jug Band needs 2 come West Virginia! We'd definatly have a blast!
yay! one of my favorites! Warren Hood!
This band deserves more recognition
this is the best.
"My mom hasn't come to pick me up, you can play more songs... it's cool, she listened to Pavement" hahaha
Shame that it's popular to pay too be bored.
Sorry. No. I cough up things more interesting than your story.
they are amazing
Fritz puts on hell of a show!
Mike.. so el oso is the album you hate, but i love, in that case please make more music that you hate and i will love because that is what matters, nothing else! Also yeah you are being as much of a dick as myself with this comment. But is cool to know those years where filled with suffering... it ads flavor to the album!
"You get the ankles and I'll get the Wrists".....Brilliant, Mr. Doughty
Start with a textbook bowlcut (Afro!)
hahahahahahaha
Mr Bitterness
I need to go to an Aesop Rock concert real bad.
literally obsessed with this song now. If you aren't....shut up.
lmfao 🤣 Just came across this today!! 👍👍
can I have a sip of your guiness?
He oughtta do what Morrissey did too, just hire a bunch of twinks (and Morrissey probably hired his on the basis of something other than their playing - not that they're not skilled, they all just have a certain unoriginal image - male models?) but yeah, get a band that you HIRE - and DO actually WRITE their parts to play, and just keep the fucking accoustic in it's case except for one or two bits here and there. It really is an obnoxious sound, so use it SPARINGLY PLEASE! Use a tambourine 50%.
And this is what you're left with when you strip the music down to these "essentials" - I mean, OTHER THAN the hour of every show that he spends bitching about how people wouldn't let him retain sole control of song ownership, as though the other band members were just paid studio musicians - when you "strip it down" you get Doughty's solo shit. Which fucking sucks. Was his AA sponsor Gordon Lightfoot or something? Fuck ME what garbage. In his old band, he would WEAR his guitar but never play it
It's just an utter disrespect for musician-ship - saying that "song writing" is when you're sitting in a motel room with a napkin from the bar, maybe a "legal" (make's it official) sized scratch pad. And noodling on the accoustic guitar is seen as "the foundation" of all other instruments. Like that obnoxious jangling sound that I HATE so fucking MUCH -substitutes for good bass and drums and keyboards and samples and ... fucking cow-bell I don't give a shit. A song isn't just WORDS and CHORDS!!!
This is the same kinda shit you'd hear from Morrissey and Johnny Marr, or in the Dead Kennedy's law suit, and how many others - and you get it in the jam sessions and you'll hear it off any arrogant narcissistic singer-songwriter/accoustic-guitar-jangler - they ALL think that "the rythm section" and pretty much anybody else in the band, is there to "back them up" - you can't play a bass-line without they saying "play it BEHIND my guitar, SUPPORT it" etc. Well FUCK that, I don't LISTEN to lyrics!
that's one bitter bastard. wow
Anyone got the playlist?
Four Horsemen=Terror, Bewilderment, Frustration and Despair
Steve is back on the pot

wish I was there
