Also the way mushroomgirl portrays antis is that they don’t like any taboo subjects in media because they think the people making it are always for it when that’s simply not true. It leaves out the different ways these things are portrayed. I personally don’t consider myself either label bc I do enjoy seeing taboo shit in media, I love seeing awful dynamics, I love seeing criminals in media, I love seeing violence yk especially like weirdly homoerotic violence. The main difference is that a lot of these things are well written or handled, a lot of these things aren’t just those gross awfully written booktok dark romances. Like I LOVE what’s going on with Amanda and John in the Saw movies, it’s insane to watch this awful awful unhealthy relationship and it’s insane to watch it’s ending, it’s all so tragic!! But from what I’ve seen of that community they make like weird Sophia the first porn and also hc like abuse between characters in a weird romanticizing way and personally as someone who’s dealt w some of that I’d rather not see that being painted in a positive light. I know for a fact that her argument is just bad faith because more than likely the people she’s describing aren’t fully against seeing taboo subjects in media and just don’t want to see some weird grandpa and his niece .
