My takeaway from the Carolina game is that the Overtime rules need to change. Teams can easily just do what carolina did by winning the initial faceoff..that being keep the puck until they score. They should change the rule to not allow the team with the puck out of the zone once they gain the zone. Would make for a much more exciting and fair overtime.
Not your fault, Ned. Pgh needs to learn how to handle the puck. That end to end with Rust, resulting in a goal for the Canes coming back the other way was just stupid.
Coaching just like the Steelers
I hope I never hear DK say "Stan" ever again.....
Petterson and Letang can’t play together.. please trade Pettersson now
Back to the old ways... This team is even more bipolar than I am. Wonder if they've started experiencing PTSD-induced schizoid traits yet? Those definitely are no fun.
Pettersson and Letang were great😂😂
Same thing every game.. keep playing nieto, O’Conner.. it’s coaching.. like I’m watching the Steelers play hockey.
Pens next 3 games out of 4 games are vs CBJ, Sens, and the Lightning. All 3 teams are within 1 point of the Pens for the wildcard.
Zero anger in this video
Hey Dan, miss the TH-cam live broadcasts!
@@gablefisk-govphost817 it’s just been too hectic recently.
If this is how a lot of Pens fans are feeling then think of how the majority of NHL teams fans are feeling. Must be the same. Lot of parody!
21:45 did see one of those guys self-identifying as being in Puljujarvi's home town, so that may be where it's all coming from
It seems like Malkin and a few other players couldn't keep the puck on their sticks and then ended up on the wrong side of the puck. Not the best game but they got a point. I liked their game against the Panthers and felt they deserved two for that one. That's hockey, lets go Penguins!!
Have to love Rusty.
Get rid of Sullivan
Keep playing oconner and Nieto… and benched beauvillier
Terrible coach
Let's see see YOUR stats then.
I love how even though the penguins aren't getting puck luck lately, they haven't cashed it in and given up. They 've played thru bad bounces and bad reffing and have stayed resiliant and focused.
Jarry was unreal. Great game.
Agreed he played well..just needs to be consistent. To be fair out D most of the time is pretty rough. Even with goalies in the past we put a lot of pressure on our goalies lol
simple as this. lets freaking go Pens! short Letang and putting up this performance against a legit beast of a defending cup champs on the road. building block game
Sharks are the worst and have given up 146 goals against. Pens are next at 145 goals against. Pens are 4th worst in the league behind San Jose, Chicago, and Nashville with a -25 goal differential. Ottawa has 3 games in hand on the Pens and hold the wild card. The Flyers and CBJ are only 1 point behind the Pens with both having 1 game in hand. Montreal is 2 points behind the Pens with 2 games in hand. Pens are 14th worst in the league and only 2 points ahead of Montreal for the 10 worst and a lottery spot!!
Are you actually going on and on about the refs? Nobody cares. We have all seen NHL reffing throughout the years.
Penguins buying & selling: DEADLINE / Final Stretch Rackell - Crosby - Rust Bunting - Malkin - TRADE O’Conner - Lizotte - Tomasino Beauvillier - Glass - Acciari 13: McGroarty (in for whomever is slumping at the time) Pickering - Letang Grzelcyk - Karlsson Graves - POJ Trade: Petterson
Thanks, Dan. Appreciate it. Happy New Year. Go Pens
Its hard to hold a value to a player in a position that doesn't benefit him or the team when the coach refuses to play him at the position he's clearly better at. Its a wolf eating at its legs to survive. And that's Sullivan's doing.
Happy New Year Dan! Truthfully, the Pens are playing better, yes, but they're just not good enough. Goaltending is average from both. Too many teams now simply can outskate the Pens, making it hard for them to accrue shots on goal, and puck possession. They're an 8th to 10th best team in the conference. They'll probably miss the playoffs by 3 to 5 points.
Ugh. The Penguins took 2 of 6 points in the last 3 games vs teams they are "competing" for a playoff spot with. They are a Mike Sullivan coached team that give plugs like Nieto and Acciari 15 minutes of ice a night. They can be mad all they want, but they are the Pirates until they fire Mike Sullivan.
League worst GAA. This team is gunning for 9th/10th in the conference. Total joke 😂
Total joke? They're not a good team. No idea why you think it would be.
Thanks, Dan...always look forward these...I really like Ned in net way better than Jarry...rarely is he flopping all over the place like #35, and always makes one or two big ones to keep the score where it is...knows when to freeze the puck for a face-off as well...as a bonus, he's a great interview who takes us behind the mask....Happy New Year !
Happy New Year DK!
Happy new year!

BUNTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PURE CLASS ACT,,, A great athlete a great example to the new young players in the League...
Took more games because the league Sid came up in obviously had and has 10 times the talent in it...that's a no brainer..
Crosby's so good he broke the same record twice in one weekend 🤯 lol
Pure class
Atta boy Sid Downright impressive 👏 👏👏
Annnnnnnd......he's traded to Colorado
wanna scrap?
A great athlete, competitor and moreover, a classy example to young athletes.
Pens won. Sid gets the assist. Bunting with another power play goal.
Sid is a MONSTER!!! 👹
Am a PHN+ subscriber, Dan. Appreciate your commitment and incites. Safe travels.
THE MOST OVERRATED D MAN IN LEAGUE OUT AND GUESS WHAT....BETTER DEFENSIVE PLAY
This ☝🏻
Unfortunately ottawa won. Definitely played better then last night. As far as the one person being negative, penguin fans have gotten spoiled. A decade and a half of making playoffs every season. Dont know how to handle them losing. The penguins were awful when i 1st started watching them in the early 80's. Drafted lemieux, jagr and made a few trades and won back to back cups. Got bad again in early 2000's. Drafted fleury, malkin, crosby and letang then by 2006 the playoff streak began. More dark years are coming in a few seasons. Just saying to penguin fans be patient and enjoy the final years of crosby. Ive been threw 2 dark eras of penguins hockey and hopefully they will rise again after the core retires.
i've been around that long too. do you think dubas is the man to do the job
Broke the record sure. Took a lot more games though. That can’t be forgotten.
It's not forgotten but it was easier to score goals back in the 80's and 90's. Goalie pads were a lot smaller and goaltenders in general were smaller but on the other hand the game was way more physical back then. It's an amazing accomplishment no matter how many more games it took to break it. Im a huge mario fan and think if it wasnt for injuries and bout with cancer, he would be considered the greatest of all time and in my mind he is. Crosby is a great player and ambassador for the modern game and am very proud of what he has accomplished
@@bryanelliott6662 Also goaltending has probably evolved the most over the years. If you look back to 80s and 90s it's almost laughable.
Crosby ERA only 6 goals per game! In 1980s NHL 8 goals per game! Early 1990s 7,2 goals per game! You can not compare todays numbers to high scoring 1980s! Crosby's 600 goals would be 800 if played in high scoring 1980s!
@@RaineriHakkarainenThat’s not the way it works. 😂
