      @@thomasberkebile9813 as long as the piston pushes in easy and the caliper is not leaking, you’re ok. If it’s real hard to push in, replace it. Also what leaks are you referring to? When you push the piston back in the caliper, it sends fluid back to the master cylinder. If the master cylinder was already full, there is a chance it may spill over.

      Basically there is a relay on that board that shorts the coils to ground when you turn off the key switch or trigger a safety. Disconnect the small wires from both coils and if it starts and runs good then the issue is not fuel or spark. The board may need cleaning or replacing. Be careful and don’t run too long with covers off.

  • @srod86

    I wanted to do this and be cheap. After reading the comments don’t do it. Just go to Honda the wiper arm and bushing is like $13/$14. After reading the comments it’s a waste of time and money. I knew when it was installed looking loose like that, something wasn’t right. However great video. You made it with good intentions and this post is too. Just want to help people.

    I just got done doing the exact same thing. The old boards were nailed like yours. I took a hole saw and cut off center around each nail. popped out the wood around the nail that was still sticking up, cut the boards in half and removed them. Then, like you, I used a grinder to cut off the nail tops. Yes, they used a gun to shut those nails in. The force and speed almost welds the nails in place. Cut the front top angle just like you did and now I have all new wood flooring that is smooth, straight and all edge glued together. I keep my trailer inside which will minimize any water issues that can occur if a trailer would hold water. Thanks for your video and idea. I was going to do that, but you did and a great job.

    You also spoke of initially was a weak spark, addressing that I would emery cloth the flywheel and coil ends first thing just to start at a cleaned off position. And this is why I was watching your video, my 2006 Wright Sentar 23hp Kaw, extremely hard starting cold and almost impossible to restart hot. So I will clean up what I suggested to you and ckeck ignition switch. And pull shut off wires off coils and see how it acts. I havent checked fuel pump either that will be among the other tests. Thanks

    • @jimcooke640
      @jimcooke640 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! My weak spark was because the dirty circuit board was partially grounding out the ignition coils. Once I cleaned that up it has been running great ever since. If you have a good strong spark I would look at the carb and fuel delivery. On some small engines I have also seen valve clearance cause issues similar, but that’s a long shot. Good luck!

    I love it...except....Honda used the older series engine - not the GX series. It is a good engine but it does not have a 'head'. To get at the internals, you have to take off the cylinder and fish out the valves. I know this because mine had no compression in an instant (not wear and tear). I figured carbon on the valves. But getting at 'em is a whole other thing. For the money, HOnda was never quite worth the money save for reliability. With this engine, ya don't got that.

    Hi great tutorial and I fixed my 05 Accord with Doorman 49449 bushing as in video but it has been about 1 month since repair and linkage bushing slipped off again like it might be a little large. Some else commented to use a different bushing part number but I personally took it apart and put it back together since I have to order linkage arm from Honda so if I fix again it will be the last time. As of now it is working again.

    The actual Dorman part number for the Honda’s is 49464 and is a bit smaller and will fit from like 96-2008 I want to say.. Hope it helps someone else out with the right bushings.. I’ve replaced like IDk 30+ sets of them at the shop. There is 4 in the Dorman kit and when you go to replace them do all 4 bushings at the same time. Put just a dab of graphite on each one. Will not collect dust and mess up the new part..
