    While a strobe certainly is expensive, the softbox and the stand don't come cheap, either. In my opinion, it'd be more beneficial to just get a sandbag or some other kind of weight as you showed at the end of the video. Also, the stand's leg position you showed is not the most stable one. If you raise the middle part with the orange weight until the three "double arms" are perpendicular to the stand, it should be in its most stable position.

    • @blackbugmedia
      @blackbugmedia 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From what I can remember, you need the Encoding Preset to make an Ingest Preset, and you need the Ingest Preset to complete the export process. It won’t let you select the encoding preset at the export stage. The blue underlined text in the queue window can only be Ingest Preset. What I’m doing here is I’m selecting the color space transform LUT (CST) as a color grading LUT (instead of BLUE SL, etc), which is kind of cheating. I really think Adobe should make this process easier. I wish I can just select a CST LUT straight from the Ingest Setting window.

    The fact that R7 had only CLog 3 means it can handle that much dynamic range. R6 mk1 sensor was barely good enough for clog3. That’s probably why they included clog 1. Canon usually doesn’t include things the camera itself cannot handle. That’s why there is no Clog 2 in R5 and R6mk2. I used to shoot in nightclubs a lot and I saw very little difference between shooting in Log and Rec709. It’s because the light is never as strong as the sun. Meaning, the difference between pure black and pure white isn’t too big. (Aka low exposure latitude situation). Only exception I found was when there is a strong spot light on stage. Then I shoot in log. I use BT2020 because it’s a standard open to public, whereas cinema gamut is a Canon only color space. When you work with other people with different cameras, it’s better to use more generic color spaces for color matching. (Even tho each camera is different. At least be in the same color space, is the idea.). Also, Atomos Ninja doesn’t recognize Cinema Gamut. That said, I work alone and I don’t use Atomos. I just want to be flexible in case I need to work with other people. If you look at the BT2020 diagram, it’s big enough space. I don’t need more than that.

      IBiS had to be ON in order to turn on Digital IS. However you can have Digital IS off and IBIS on. In other words. iBIS is prerequisite to Digital IS. But Digital IS is not prerequisite to IBIS.

    • @frostgodx
      @frostgodx 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ive noticed something after firmware on R6ii that if you have a image stabilized lens on (for example 15-35 2.8) I see there is the option to turn digital and enhanced digital on but ibis off with the lens IS switch since there both off or both on and flipping the switch turns off lens IS AND IBIS. Does it also work this way on your camera? This is not the case when using a non stabilized lens like the 16mm as there is no switch on the lens and the menu doesnt allow it. A canon rep told me this is the way to beat the ibis wobble but i didnt think it was real until i tried it but im not sure it really is working lol this is how i got here i was searching for videos with all the stability options but i dont think anyone notices that the menu changes when you put on IS or NON IS lenses its really weird@@blackbugmedia

      By the way, on R6 (MK1) Clog-3 is very noisy especially in low light, high ISO situations. I would only use Clog3 in daytime outdoors. I suggest using Clog 1 indoors and at night outdoors. It’s a sensor issue. R6 MK2 doesn’t have this issue I noticed. (I have the MK2 now)

    • @AndresArosemena
      @AndresArosemena 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@blackbugmedia Thanks for this suggestion! I have done some shoots with clog3 in iso 800 but indoors or in shadowed areas and it always look super noisy compared to using the other canon profiles event at 3200 or 6400 iso. You are the first person I read that says it may be a sensor issue. I need to do some tests using clog1 to see if I get better results (a lot of people say never to use clog1 when having clog3 available because clog1 has way less dynamic range)

    • @blackbugmedia
      @blackbugmedia 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AndresArosemena When the scene has less exposure latitude such as at night or indoors, you don’t need a lot of dynamic range from the camera. C-log 1 is just fine for low light situations. The reason I say it’s a sensor issue is because it seems like R6 MK 1 wasn’t capable of handling C-Log 3 curve, but they included it anyway to appease the customers. it’s kinda like when they added CLog to 5Dmk4 after people complaining. That was a terrible idea. Any 8-bit video cannot handle log curves. The sensor and the log curve has to work together, and I think R6 is slightly pushing its own limit. However, you should try over exposing and push the shadow down when grading. I cannot tell you by how many stops because it varies depending on the scene.
