I finally got to the exhaust portion of my build. I ended up going with a Tanabe revel medallion exhaust. I really wanted the Apexi ws2 but apparently it’s discontinued. I also chose to go with a skunk2 b series alpha header matched up to Blox test pipe

Finally! The B20 VTEC starts! But we may have some issues. It’s been a long journey with this engine but we are almost at the point of finally driving it on surface streets. I finish up by throwing in the cams and adjusting timing before slapping the valve cover on and starting her up Follow me on Instagram @nic3guyeddie

มุมมอง 4768 หลายเดือนก่อน
This build has thrown everything at me. But I’m not giving up! I removed the B16 head to change out the head gasket for the 3rd time. Hopefully this one will be the last time for a while. New head gasket and new arp head studs will be installed. Sending the head off for some work and then I’ll be back to install it. And hopefully soon the B20VTEC will be alive Follow me on Instagram @nic3guyeddie

In this video I install Megan racing front camber kits onto my 2000 Civic EX. I decided to go with Megan racing due to it being cheaper and pretty much the exact same thing as Hardrace. Big Willow track event with extremespeed
มุมมอง 1512 ปีที่แล้ว
Decided to finally come back out for a track day since the weather was finally cooling down a bit. What better way to shake the cobwebs off then to take the car out to big Willow. Decided to take the civic just to see what it would do. The integra is fine but it needed a couple parts changed out that I have yet to get around to. Didn’t get to set a pb with the civic but I did manage a 1:49.6 wh...

[FAIL] Hardrace shifter bushing install goes wrong
wow... useless.
Koyorad's Dohc radiator is the same with the sohcs planning to do this to my single cam
Same dimensions but the difference is in inlet/outlet size for the hoses. KOYO-HH080300 is the PN for DOHC. KOYO-HH080292 for SOHC. B series uses 32mm hoses where as single cam uses 28mm hoses
This video showed nothing what a total waste of get this thing gone
Thanks for watching 🤣
Awesome. Want to do the same. I also have 95 gsr that i took apart years ago. Im now more worried about findings all the parts to rebuild it. Cant wait to see it run!
Just get in the garage and start rebuilding! With time it’ll all come together. Mine should be up in the next week or so
Hello my friend , I saw you on the video torque the head not as the Honda manual sequence on the picture !? Why?
I think that was a final edit of me rechecking torque was correct. Honda sequence was what I used 👍🏽
@@nic3guyeddie Sorry to tell you that , but on the video 11:50 the sequence wasn`t as honda`s manual sequence , that could be your leaking problem ...
You can't take the mazdarati tho
Can you send a link to the head gasket you bought for the b20 b16 build im having trouble finding it. Thanks

nice video, did you check valave tom valve clerance
Thank you! And yes I did
Ill be doing this build in a couple of weeks already have b20b. Block and gsr head
more info please
Hell yeah keep us updated!
@@vladickrd1 been bc ive got the parts for the vtec line from oil filter and the block screw thing for oil line under the head deck
*So only the Lisle Metric tool is needed for Honda B-Series VTEC Head?*
good job
No lube use ?
🔥🔥🔥💯
Did you have any issues with the OEM Honda valve stem seals? My gsr seems to leak a lot of oil into the combustion chamber with super tech valve stem seals so Im thinking of going OEM Honda valve stem seals.
Sick what machine shop u use that looks sick
Did you adjust the head dowel pin length after you resurfaced the head? If you don't you will probably have problems.
I didn’t even think about that. I wonder if that could be why the head isn’t sealing to the block
“Best sounding exhaust”
Have you gotten your injectors clean/checked? Some of that smoke might be from a stuck open injector.
Funny you mention that because I was thinking about this. I haven’t checked or cleaned the injectors. I actually got these injectors years ago from the junkyard. I’ll have to swap out these for the ones from my gsr and give that a try. Thank you
It’s ok to put a lot of lube inside the thread and bolts.
One of my all time fav engine b20vtec🙌🏾🙌🏾
I'm pretty sure the directions for the ARP studs say to put the lube on both ends of the stud. You don't need a lot though. If you're putting on the same amount of lube on the block side as you did on the head side, then yeah you're putting on way too much. You should put on just enough to see that the thread surfaces are fully coated but still be able to see the depth of the threads. When lubing bolt threads I put a blob of lube about the size of half a pea on my finger, then smear it on the bolt threads. Then I use a toothbrush to make sure it gets on all the threads surfaces as well as removing the excess. Good luck. Third times a charm.
Well I did everything correctly and still having the same results. I’ll be making an update video and probably scrap this b20v idea for the time being
@nic3guyeddie b20's have known to develop hairline cracks in the sleeves between pistons that don't show until torqued.
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 great vid! Til this day b20vtec are still my favorite engines. I just rebuilt my old 13 years old engine recently. Back then it made 239whp. Keep the vids coming!
Whats the set up
Thank you! Your b20v is BEAST!
Hey on a vtec head to b20 block. Aren't you supposed to tap and plug one of the oil feed ports. Then add a oil filter adapter or oil filter sandwich plate to reroute the oil to the head for the vtec to function.
Yup! Correct. That’s necessary in order to do this job correctly
I hope you response my question about b20 vtec 6567m84 wiseco piston type r head is it good set up for the b20
Get a block guard,b20 blocks has week cylinder walls,if anything you should have don't a B18b/a block@@marvinreyes6270
Nice looks good but assembly lube helps
Thank you! I used the assembly lube after all but just a bit on the threads that go into the block
Nice 🔥💪👍💯
Subbed!
So awesome!! Nice work!
Thank you
Good stuff bro, congrats.
Thank you bro I appreciate it
Don’t be like me forgetting to clean the oil and coolant on the head bolt holes because my B20vtec The threads managed to unthread itself and luckily my head wasn’t bad and my block wasn’t bad but it messed up my head gasket
I’ve messed up the head gasket twice from not properly cleaning things like you lol. How do you like your b20v setup?
@@nic3guyeddie running a GSR Head With A B20B USDM stock block with Supertech dual valvesprings and 2001 Integra Type R Cams simple build hoping to make it around 170 or 180 range of horsepower just haven’t put it in the car yet the old B20vtec I have plans for that one might get pistons and rods for the old B20vtec make 200 horsepower
Looking at doing a B20 swap on my EF and eventually adding a B16 head as well. Definitely good to see others sorting this out as well.
Do it! You’ll be happy you did haha
🐕
How do you get the lower hose adapter off old radiator?
Tbh I don’t remember but I do remember it gave me a hard time to remove
about to do this, how do I bleed the system afterwards?
I used one of those radiator funnels and just let it idle until the fans turned on. Heater on full blast. After I saw no bubbles I turned off the car. Topped off the radiator and put the cap on. And it was good to go 👍🏽
Literally in the process of a b18b1/spec itr pr3-2 head lsv n im nervous asf about it😅
Don’t be nervous bro! Take your time do it right 😅 you’ll be good
I only use auxito in my car just took out the low beam 1600 lumen put in some 2000 lumen
I appreciate your passanger airbag delete, I got a dc4 and your video helped me a lot more but I didnt need brackets. Had to Plastic JB Weld it since it was a carbon piece from Taiwan
Is this the same for the rear ???
No rear is different
Very nice video!!!
Thank you very much!
All I see is the dudes back
What brake lines/hoses did you have to use? Integra or legend?
Stock integra lines
@@nic3guyeddie so if I’m doing this on an EK, that would be 99-00 Si or 96-00 EX brake lines right? With EX or Si knuckles of course
@@MultiAdrian46 either ones work. The legend calipers brake lines bolt on same spot as regular civic/integra ones
@@nic3guyeddie awesome! Thanks for the info boss!
No problem and good luck
Do you sit lower?
Yeah definitely especially compared to stock 96-00 civic seats
Good vidéo 👍🏼
Thank you
is there a way to get the “auto” to work?
There is but it requires more parts and wiring
He’s back !!!!!
Hopefully I can stay on a weekly routine 🤞🏽
Post more video's
I have a b20v build video lined up and some brake mods for the civic lined up as well. So hopefully soon I’ll upload more content. Thank you for your comment too I really appreciate you
@@nic3guyeddie no problem bro love the video's I got a 99 dc2 gsr i want to track it one day but the suspension needs some work your video's help me out hopefully soon I can hit the track
to anyone looking for brackets: the spec-D EK seat brackets are the ones that he ordered and they fit perfectly!
No bag fumbled on this one ☝🏽
How was the ride quality? Looking to lower my civic but still have a good daily drive
The ride quality is good for daily driving. It wasn’t so good for track use because it was too soft
What is this model called?! Looks good but can’t seem to find it online hahaha thanks
It came out of an Si-VTEC Integra
